Saving Grace (Mad World, #2) by Christine Zolendz

Saving Grace (Mad World, #2)Saving Grace by Christine Zolendz
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3 Stars

I don't get happily ever-afters. those are for fairy tales and porn.

The only reason why I am rating 3 stars and not any lower is because I originally liked Grace and Shane so much.

HOWEVER

I’m pretty upset because Saving Grace was such a disappointment, considering I liked book 1, Fall From Grace SO MUCH!

So Saving Grace pretty much picks up from the cliff-hanger and off the bat, I realized the writing style was a little more paranormal than contemporary romance. I have a hard time expressing my feelings on this one because I am all for paranormal romances, but not when it’s cloaked behind a contemporary romance. I felt like it should have been all paranormal or none at all (and yes I know you can have a paranormal AND contemporary romance but you get what I am saying)

Anyhow…

To sum it up, it’s kind of like this…

Grace whines like a little girl and messes up

Shane misreads Grace and acts like an a$$hole

Grace and Shane make-up, only to be interrupted

Moments later….

Shane messes up

Grace then whines like a girl

And on and on it goes

Do you see the cycle? It’s the most frustrating thing to read. Every time I feel like the story is progressing, it comes to an abrupt halt and I am beyond annoyed, frustrated and pissed! I am not talking about mild back and forth between Grace and Shane for a small portion of the story. I am talking about the whole story is back and forth.

Again, I am a all or nothing kind of person so either be a Young Adult romance or New Adult, but don’t try to be both. Every time Grace and Shane get somewhat steam, something happens. How can two people be interrupted so many times? At one point I wanted to say, just get a GD hotel and get it over with…..I mean EVERYTIME? Seriously? I rather not even read steamy scenes and just story.

How does Grace afford all the booze she buys? She was in the hospice hospital for months, then she still doesn’t have a job, she has all these medical bills, but she can throw $20 bills at the bartender? That issue should have been addressed.

I feel like Saving Grace was one major tease that I didn’t even want in the first place. I don’t know what happened to Zolendz writing, but I should have just stopped at Fall From Grace cliff-hanger or not.
