Girl on Tour is the perfect bridge between Girl with Guitar and Give in Love

…he appeared out of nowhere and gave her exactly what she needed. Comfort. Affection. Was it love? Maybe.

Okay so I’m not going to give anything away, but let’s just say Girl on Tour is what it’s titled, it’s Kylie and Trace on tour.  Both have their issues (Trace more than Kylie) and to add even more tension, now they both go on tour… on their own!

Overall, the read was really, easy, cute and slightly tensed. I would say Caisey was giving you a taste of the final course and really it was just what I needed before I get to Girl in Love. Now with that said, let’s put the disclaimer out there, Yes there’s a cliffy, BUT in all fairness, it’s book 2 and you got to kind of have it right. Do not be deterred by this cliffy! If you loved Girl with Guitar, you will love Girl on Tour.

So, it starts with Kylie and Trace about to leave on tour.  Everything is pretty much happy go-lucky.  When they start their tours, Kylie and Trace work on their relationship at a long distance. Sure, you could say it has some resemblance of Thoughtless series, but I thought Kylie and Trace were overall level-headed and there weren’t any pull-my-hair-out moments. So YAY! I know, I hate that kind of tension, everyone knows that.

I’m with you, Trace. My music is my music. I give it everything I have. If people don’t like me, either because of you or because of my music, well… they can change the damn channel

Kylie deals with her crazy band mates, Mia and Lily who are complete bitches BUT you find out why so they aren’t that bad and really they aren’t.  Trace is touring with sexy, but messed up Gretchen.   So there’s THAT issue. I love Kylie, she’s a sweet heart and you just want to HUG her!  Although, she’s more sassy and I love it! Trace, oh Trace, I wanted to punch him in Girl with Guitar and I want to punch him … okay not punch, maybe slap him, in Girl on Tour.  He’s definitely a Hero with major issues, so if you love an anti-Hero, then Trace is perfect for you.

…make another comment about Trace, his drinking or otherwise, then I promise, you won’t be able to whistle fucking Dixie when I’m through with you

Please go suck it up and Google your fucking self

So, with everything said, if you loved Girl with Guitar, you will NOT be disappointed with Girl on Tour!!!

The Tavern was a cute little place tucked into a quaint street lined by trees and streetlamps. An expensive-looking boutique and an ice cream shop bordered it. White twinkle lights lit the trees. It was like walking into a dream. But this was real. Trace Corbin was taking her on a date. She was grinning like a maniac as she stepped inside and told the maĆ®tre d’ she was waiting for someone.

“Ah yes, Ms. Ryans? We’ve been expecting you.”

She took the man’s arm because he offered it. He escorted her past the main dining area and towards the kitchen. Tucked into a corner she never would have noticed was a small table. Candlelight reflected on Trace’s clean-shaven face. He’d been stubbly yesterday. Her stomach tensed. He’d shaved for her. Tonight they weren’t Kylie Ryans, up and comer, or Trace Corbin, troubled superstar. They were just two people enjoying an evening together. Just as her escort released her, Trace stood. Hot damn, he cleaned up good. Her mouth went dry. She licked her lips as she approached the table.

He wore dark jeans—nice ones like he wore for his shows, not the tattered ones he usually wore when they were just hanging out. His black dress shirt was rolled up at the sleeves. Her breath caught when their eyes met. He smiled his warm I adore you smile, and her legs began moving of their own accord. It felt like… like she was walking towards more than just her boyfriend. In that moment, Kylie felt like she was walking towards the one thing she needed more than air. Home.

“Hey, pretty girl,” he said, giving her an appreciative once-over. “You trying to kill me with that dress?”
