Sidney’s sister and Vaughn’s brother are getting married to each other. That makes Sidney and Vaughn maid of honor and best man.
Oh what a plot!
Poor Sidney, 6 months ago, she was about to get married, until she caught her fiancé cheating on her. Now, she’s helping her beloved sister plan her sister’s wedding. I love Sidney and her sister’s relationship. It wasn’t catty, but really sweet and funny. Because of Sidney wasted three years on her ex, she created a check list. She doesn’t want to waste any more time and if any guy she dates doesn’t meet her check list, she moves on.
Vaughn does not meet Sidney’s check list. He’s an undercover agent man whore. She loves woman and doesn’t want to settle down. Since he’s best man, he’s put into many situations where he has to be with Sidney or at least in engage in conversation. Of course Vaughn finds Sidney attractive, but he doesn’t want anything more serious than a fling.
Overall
I really liked It Happened One Wedding. The thing about Julie James’ books, they are light, funny and really entertaining. I think the situations Sidney and Vaughn found themselves in to be hilarious. There are a lot of “cute” moments too.
Both characters love their siblings very much and you can see all the crazy stuff Sidney and Vaughn do to help out their sister and brother get hitched without drama. Also the banter between Sidney and Vaughn is nice and there’s some light steam in between.
If you are a fan of Julie James previous books, then you won’t be disappointed with this one.
