Debt by Nina G. Jones

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 This-one-is-REALLY-steamy Stars

I picked this one up because of the reviews and plot. A girl hires someone to rape her? Oh yeah I’m all over that.

Let me get this out of the way…

I love dark books.

I love it when the hero is a killer

I love taboo, dirty, gritty and naughty sex

I love it when the Hero treats the Heroine utter crap.

Most of this is checked off. I wouldn’t call Debt super dark, but it’s not light. I would say if you want to read something a little different, then this one is for you.

Mia goes through an escort service to hire a man to rape her. What she didn’t expect is to actually get attacked by a real attacker. She doesn’t know this at the time and gets so turned on she has sex with him.

All of us have a bit of Mia in them. We all want some form of kinky sex. What’s a single girl to do? Well, pay for it. I couldn’t get enough of this and let me tell you, it was hot! If you don’t like books with lots of sex scenes, then don’t read Debt. The book is over flowing with it but it didn’t take away from the story. I promise.

Tax is the attacker. He has his reason for attacking Mia. He planned on killing her, but he became too turned on and ended having sex with her. Isn’t that the problem these days? You plan on killing someone and end up sleeping with them. I know it’s a CRAZY story, but it worked for me.

Tax can’t kill Mia, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t hate her. And you can feel it. He treats her like crap and lets her know it. AND Mia gets turned on by this.

All of that I just mentioned was the good part. Now, the part I had issues with was the writing flow and Tax’s issues. The book has flashbacks and I can’t stand it! Eventually you figure out what happens and by the time you get to the part, you just don’t want to read it. It’s pretty graphic.

There’s a lot of angst in this one, meaning things could have been prevented by simply communicating. Yep! It’s one of those books. Why don’t people just talk to each other? I don’t care for your reasons. I don’t care you don’t want to relive the whole thing because you can’t talk about it. It’s just silly.

All that aside, the book had a great intro and the steamy scenes were enjoyable. Very different, kinky and a little dark, just my kind of read.
