Curing Doctor Vincent (The Good Doctor Trilogy Book 1) by Renea Mason [Audio Review + Giveaway]

One kinky doctor + one indecent proposal = one life-changing week in Paris

Elaine Watkins, Public Relations Advisor, is surprised when she receives a summons from the very attractive and enigmatic Dr. Xavier Vincent. She worships the talented physician and company icon responsible for developing the cure that saved her sister’s life and isn’t immune to his charm. Even though puzzled by his request, she is excited and eager to get started on his latest project.

But Dr. Vincent has other ideas. Instead of discussing cures, drugs and marketing strategies, he asks Elaine to join him in Paris to indulge his unique sexual appetites.

Torn between gratitude for saving her sister, her attraction for the powerful man and compromising her pre-conceived notions of sexuality, she must decide if it's easier to feed his desires or walk away. Until she devises a plan of her own.

Make no mistake, Elaine, I am a king. Kings command and conquer. They are brutal and uncompromising. You don’t want a king. Face it, you came here expecting a saint.

4.25 Mega Hott Read < --- I’m talking, on FIRE read.

Okay, so fans of Olivia Cunning and Nicole Edwards, you will have to read Curing the Doctor Vincent. Actually, you will have to AUDIO listen because I did and it was FANTASTIC!

One Woman + Two Men + One Man Watching = HAPPY TIMES ALL AROUND

I didn’t know anything about this story. I just knew it had a doctor (hence the title) and it was an audio book with two narrators (I tend to like narrators with both male and female), so why not right?!
I had no idea what kind of world I was stepping into.   I will put that tiny disclaimer here, this is a PURE erotic book. If you don’t like overly steamy books, then this will not be for you and let me just say this, you are crazy if you don’t like that kind of books, but to each their own.

This was my kind of cuppa.

Elaine is a PR rep for Dr. Xavier Vincent. Vincent (the Good Doctor) asks Elaine to work on a project with him. The thing is, he lives in Paris. When she travels to Paris to meet up with Vincent, she gets more than what she bargains for.

Vincent is a man with many many many flaws (isn’t that the case though and don’t we love it?). He also has one tiny issue. He doesn’t want to have relationships with women, physically.  Meaning, he likes to watch and not only does he like to watch he likes to watch two men having relations with his girl.

Vincent is an interesting Hero. It’s not that he’s all for sharing, okay he is all for sharing, but he generally likes his women. He and his ex-wife had this relationship and it worked for them. So he propositions Elaine.

For one week Vincent wants Elaine. He wants to watch her do the dirty with two men while he watches **GASP** oh it’s so taboo and so awesome at the same time.

Here’s the thing that WORKED so well for me. The book is written in Elaine’s POV, BUT the male parts are narrated by Vincent. Now, this threw me off at first, because I’m use to dual POV and you know, the male POV is narrated by the male and the female POV is narrated by the female, but I’ve never listened to a female POV book where the male jumps in during the male parts. That is usually voiced by the female with a deeper voice. Anyhow, let’s just say that ALL books should be narrated like Curing Doctor Vincent. It completely worked for me.

Vincent works with Elaine to show her what kind of man he is and what his tastes are. Not only he likes to watch, but he likes to direct. It’s his way of making love with his woman. Elaine has never done anything like this before, but come on, you throw a girl in a room with three hot men, how could she say no?

Overall, the book is a short read, but that because it’s a trilogy, don’t worry, there’s no epic cliffy, you will be very happy with the ending. Like I said, it’s an overly steamy book, but I liked that. The parts with Elaine, Marco, Sebastian and Dr. Vincent were my favorite (obviously).  We do find out why Vincent is the way he is and I liked uncovering his past, so it’s not all steam.

I’m very excited for the next book and I will of course listen to it on audio. I can’t imagine this series any other way.

Audio Questions

Where does Curing Doctor Vincent rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I love audio books. I mostly listen to romance audio books, so I’m really picky about listening to books that can keep my interests.  I usually listen to books based on my mood. I was very much in the mood to listen to something a little kinky, taboo and with lots of steam. Renea delivered. I even re-listened to some of the parts with my husband because the performance was just top notch. It’s a great audio.

What did you like best about this story?

The audio narration was the best part and uncovering Vincent’s past. The narrators really got me into the story. I was wondering about Vincent’s past and why he is the way he is and how he could just be okay with the things he was doing. I liked getting to know Vincent. I also liked Elaine’s and Vincent’s intense relationship.

What about Noah Michael Levine and Erin Deward ’s performance did you like?

This was my first narration by Erin and Noah. Erin did a fabulous job. I think it’s very difficult to transition from Elaine’s character to just simply narrating the story.  I could easily following and understand when she was being the character and when she was reading the book.

The star of the show was Noah. He only spoke during his parts and I have no idea how he made the book flow so easily. Noah pops in and out during the male parts and like I said, at first it throws you off (if you have never experienced it), but eventually you can’t imagine it any other way. I LOVE his voice. It’s so deep and he gets REALLY into it.

Erin and Noah worked so well together. It was really easy, light and it just flowed.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes I can listen to it all in one sitting. I would suggest listening to it in private because some parts will make you super blush. It’s also a fairly short audio book, but just enough to give you what you need. You will be very satisfied and happy when you are done.
