Felony Ever After by Various Authors [REVIEW]

Written by: Helena Hunting - Debra Anastasia - Nina Bocci - Belle Aurora - Tijan - Katherine Stevens - K.A. Robinson -  Liv Morris -  Penelope Ward - Vi Keeland -  Leisa Rayven - S.M. Lumetta - J.M. Darhower

Verity Michaels is new to New York City, but even she knows riding in a stolen cab is not a normal way to meet someone. Damn it if that tattoo-covered would-be felon isn’t everywhere now, and lighting everything on fire under her skirt.

His name is Hudson Fenn, and he’s frustratingly impossible to pin down. He works as a bike messenger, but has the manners of a prince—along with a strange tendency toward breaking and entering. As much as Verity knows he’s not her type, and likely to land her in jail, she can’t help but find her truest self when they’re together.

Can she be brave enough to give Hudson a real chance? Will he be bold enough to reveal the man beneath the ink, or will his secrecy doom their connection? Also, WTF is the deal with Verity’s boss? No less than thirteen of your favorite romance writers have teamed up to tell this sexy, wacky, snort-inducing tale. With them you’ll visit the world’s most irritating office, a VIP room of questionable cleanliness, and the fanciest apartment a bike messenger has ever inhabited, but you’ll still never see this ending coming.

When I realized thirteen authors collaborated on a book I didn’t think anything of it, but when I realized it was ONE story, well I had to see how this would work out.

Felony Ever After is written by thirteen awesome authors, each chapter is written by a different author (some write multiple chapters). What I love best about this is that you know who wrote each chapter and to my surprise the writing flowed and it sounded like it came from one person.  The book was passed from on author to the next with a rough out-line of the story. So each chapter has its own personality.

Verity is a single gal in New York. She hates her job, but loves to do photography on the side. She dates safe guys, guys with no tattoos and steal taxi cabs.

Hudson is a guy that gets judged easily. He has tattoos all over his body as in neck and hands. He also has piercings, some you see and some you don’t. The thing about Hudson is that he looks like the bad boy, but he’s really not. He’s a nice guy with a great body and maybe he may steal a taxi cab.
When Verity and Hudson randomly shares a taxi cab, Verity is nervous as heck. She sees that Hudson is good looking, but he’s not the guy for her. Because of a certain situation, Hudson goes for harmless joyride in the taxi cab. It’s really funny.

I think that is the cutest meet-cute and it kind of sets up how they see each other. Verity is a judgmental girl. She doesn’t want anything to do with Hudson, yet she can’t stop thinking about him. I liked Verity but I wasn’t fond that she liked his tattoos but she didn’t want to go out with him. She kind of lets society dictates how she feels.

I really liked Hudson. He’s sweet, funny and charming. He has his secrets and is closed off, which makes Verity question him a bit, but his kindness kind of overpowers all of that. But he’s no pushover and I love it when he can go cave-man like.

The overall story is comical and amusing, the tension and angst is mild, but there is enough to keep you interested. There are plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, especially Verity’s boss and I applaud the author that developed that storyline.

So if you are a curious cat like me and you like at least one of these authors, you need to check out this book because it’s one of a kind.
