Bad Boy Brody by Tijan

The loss of his brother sends Brody Asher from Hollywood Golden Boy to Hollywood Bad Boy. When he might lose a blockbuster movie role because of his new reputation, he agrees to first do a small indie movie to clean up his image.
Arriving on location, he’s not ready for the family politics and mystery surrounding the movie script that was based on a real life murder. And he’s most definitely not ready to fall in love with the person that was the reason for the murder in the first place, or the fact that no one is supposed to know about her.

Ryan's Bed by Tijan

I crawled into Ryan Jensen’s bed that first night by accident.
I barely knew him. I thought it was his sister’s bed—her room. It took seconds to realize my error, and I should've left...

I didn’t.
I didn’t jump out.I didn’t get embarrassed.I relaxed.
And that night, in that moment, it was the only thing I craved.

I asked to stay. He let me, and I slept.

The truth? I never wanted to leave his bed. If I could've stayed forever, I would have.

He became my sanctuary.

Because—four hours earlier—my twin sister killed herself.

Felony Ever After by Various Authors [REVIEW]

Written by: Helena Hunting - Debra Anastasia - Nina Bocci - Belle Aurora - Tijan - Katherine Stevens - K.A. Robinson -  Liv Morris -  Penelope Ward - Vi Keeland -  Leisa Rayven - S.M. Lumetta - J.M. Darhower

Verity Michaels is new to New York City, but even she knows riding in a stolen cab is not a normal way to meet someone. Damn it if that tattoo-covered would-be felon isn’t everywhere now, and lighting everything on fire under her skirt.

His name is Hudson Fenn, and he’s frustratingly impossible to pin down. He works as a bike messenger, but has the manners of a prince—along with a strange tendency toward breaking and entering. As much as Verity knows he’s not her type, and likely to land her in jail, she can’t help but find her truest self when they’re together.

A Whole New Crowd by Tijan

A Whole New Crowd (A Whole New Crowd, #1)A Whole New Crowd by Tijan
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3 Girl Power Stars

A Whole New Crowd was an interesting read. I think it may have been better if I read the non-edited and grittier version. I didn’t dislike AWNC, but there was just something off about it.

Taryn

Taryn is a hard core girl. She was in a rough crowd and she’s getting out of it, now that she is adopted. Her ex-boyfriend and her would steal and do a lot of illegal activities. Now, she’s reforming, her new adopted sister wants Taryn to be part of the new crowd. The popular kids.

I liked Taryn, I thought she was strong, cool and very awesome. She doesn’t take crap from anyone and she doesn’t care what other people think of her. Her mouth gets the best of her, but she’s always honest. When Taryn’s sister tries to get Taryn to hang out with the new kids, it was very entertaining to watch. It was cute and it made me like Taryn more.

Tray

Tray is the popular boy in school and everyone is scared of him. He doesn’t mess around and he isn’t afraid of anything. When Taryn sticks up for herself and gets in Tray’s face, Tray may have met his match.

I liked Tray, I thought he was hard core as well, kind of sexy and very mysterious. Of course something about Tray’s past makes him the way he is. I liked how everyone was scared of Tray and you didn’t know what was his issue.

Overall

The banter between Taryn and Tray was very cute. Taryn keeps on pushing Tray’s buttons and Tray keeps Taryn on her toes.

I liked the overall story line and the characters. However…

The misses…

Tijan is known for this and I hate to say it, but there’s A LOT of characters. Sometimes I feel like I should write a diagram to see who is related to who, who is hooking up with who and who is good and bad. It’s even harder when the names are kind of similar.

AWNC is very long. I’m pretty sure I could do away with the last 30% of the book. I read the first 70% with little problem, but towards the end, I think I took a break every 5% because it just kept on going on and on. There was just a lot of added scenes and problems that I didn’t think were needed.

There was something lacking and I wanted an oh shocked factor. It took me awhile to figure out what the main point was. The first half of the book was Taryn and Tray getting to know each other and the second half of the books kind of gets to the “problem” of the story. I felt like there was some what a disconnect. I am not sure how to describe it. I think the story simply just dragged out.

Overall, AWNC was a nice read, it wasn’t really for me, but the story was cute and somewhat interesting.

Fallen Crest Public (Fallen Crest High, #3) by Tijan

Sam's first day at Fallen Crest Public doesn't go well. Some girls want to be her. Some girls want to destroy her. And some just don't like her. All in all, despite being protected by Mason and Logan, it's still only the strong survive. Sam will not only have to survive, she needs to learn how to conquer too, but there's another battle growing. Things are about to come to a disastrous end between the towns, Roussou and Fallen Crest. Sam's other main dilemma? Keeping Mason and Logan from getting arrested or hospitalized.

4 Stars

I love Tijan’s books and I loved Fallen Crest High series, however, and yes I have to put that “tiny” however there and major sigh to the fact, Fallen Crest Public is NOT the last book in the series. I would describe book 1, Fallen Crest High as the pilot of the series and with each book that is release, is kind of a like an episode as in, each book has a major obstacle that needs to be overcome.  In book 2, Fallen Crest family, the main obstacle was Sam’s crazy mom and in book 3, Fallen Crest Public, the main obstacle is Kate.
Mason, Logan and Sam all live with Nate.  It’s the last semester of high school before Mason goes to college.  Also, Sam is going to school with Mason and Logan now.  Not everyone in school, especially the girls and especially Kate is okay with Sam.

First off, I loved the main theme, “damsel in distress”, yup, I love it, I eat it up and I don’t care how much you want a “strong” Heroine.  Sam is still strong, but sometimes a strong Heroine needs to be saved by a crazy over protective Hero. The star of the book would be Mason. If you could create an alpha high schooler with sexy looks and charming personality, my money would be on Mason.

I have a major book boyfriend crush on Mason Kade. Don’t worry there’s plenty of Logan action for all those who are team Logan. One of the main things I love about the series is the adorable relationship Mason, Logan and Sam have with each other. I think its super cute, it makes me smile and it’s something I eat up.
Kate is a crazy bia and strikes a lot of terror and there are many difficulties because of her. I like this, it creates nice tension, but none of the pull-you-hair-out kind.  There has to be a major villain in every book and Tijan created one I loved to hate.

Now, let’s get to the things that did not work out for me.

I fairly enjoyed FCP because I’m a HUGE fan of Tijan’s writing, but I am disappointed to say this one missed the mark just a bit for me.  The writing was a bit drawn out, in the sense, I did skim a few pages here and there. Also, THERE ARE SO MANY FUCKING CHARACTERS.  I felt like I need to create a spread sheet of who dated who, who was related to whom and who were friends and who were enemies.

The biggest draw back of the book for me was the ending. For a few reasons, first I thought the series was ending, but it didn’t.  I thought the ending mirrored a lot like another book I have previous read, so it didn’t seem very original.  I did not like the direction of the ending because it goes against the dynamic of the book (again for me).  With that said, I will not be continuing the series. As much as I love the Kade brothers, I just don’t want to see where the story is going to go.

I think Tijan broke my heart, but I still am a major fan.

I just have to say, my “issues” aren’t really issues. In all sense, I think if you are a fan of the series, you will enjoy it and will more than likely be very content.  I’m just the odd duck on this one.

“Heads up,” one of the guys warned. “Hoe walking.”

“Screw you, Ethan,” Kate snapped. “You’re showing off to get in Mason’s good graces, but we both know the shoe was on the other foot last night.”

Last night?

I didn’t want to turn around. I didn’t want to deal with Kate yet. She and her three friends had been the main companions for the guys, but that stopped when I found out about her agenda to destroy Sam. She went after my girlfriend so I went after her. Well, I tried. Sam was adamant about handling this battle on her own so I did what I could. The girls were no longer friends with our group. They were exiled, but I heard the anger from her and I knew she wasn’t going to lay down and take it.

I knew about Parker and Nate, but it sounded like there was more. I wondered what else Kate was up to?
Logan laughed. “So desperate, Kate. The look doesn’t fit you.”

“Keep laughing, Logan. You’re going on the list.”

He grinned now.

I laughed to myself. She stepped wrong, and judging by the quiet intake of breath, Kate knew it as well. The easygoing air surrounding the group was gone. Knowing that look, I turned now and saw my little brother getting ready to go in for the kill. There was a certain look that came over him. His head would straighten. His eyes would narrow and roam up and down the target. No one knew what was he doing, but I did. Logan was searching for weaknesses. If he couldn’t see one, he’d sense for one. It was something we learned over the years after we’d been screwed over by adults too many times. We went with our gut.
I waited for his next move like the rest.

“What list are you talking about, Kate?” Logan’s voice grew soft. He was going in for the kill.
Kate seemed frozen, and the rest of her crew had varying reactions. Parker grimaced, her eyes darting to Nate’s before looking away. Natalie took a deep breath and Jasmine moved back a step. All of them recognized the tone, they just weren’t used to being on the receiving end.

“Come on, Logan,” Kate tried to laugh it off. “I was kidding.”

A smirk came over me, but then it vanished. As I watched the scene unfold, I saw Logan decide to give her a pass.

No. That wasn’t going to happen. “No, you weren’t.”

All heads jerked in my direction. My gaze caught my brother’s in a silent mocking, and a spark flared in Logan’s. The message was received: Kate couldn’t be let off the hook, no matter what. I wasn’t surprised when I heard him add, “What list are you talking about? Come on, Kate. I’d like to know how I rate getting on some list?”

She let out a shaky laugh, glancing between us now. “Seriously, come on, guys. Mason. Logan. I was joking.”

“No, you weren’t.”

She turned to me and her eyes widened. A glimmer of fear showed. “I came over to see if you needed help.”
My eyes narrowed to slits now. “With what?”

“With Tate.”

“You think we need help with her?”

She peeked at Logan before turning back to me.

Too late. I caught the slight smugness. It mingled with her fear, but I caught it. “What was that?”

“What?” An innocent mask slipped over her.

I shook my head, pointing to her face. “That. That look you gave Logan.”

Logan’s head straightened. His interest was piqued.

“What are you talking about, Mason?” She was growing cockier now. “I’m trying to be a friend. We used to have your backs. Remember?”

One of the guys muttered, “Oh shit.”

Even Nate laughed at that. “Since when? What are you talking about, Kate?”

She turned to the rest of the guys. All of them were looking at her in disbelief. Except Logan, he was grinning widely, leaning back against his Escalade. He shook his head now. “You’re digging yourself a hole. Stop talking. It might help.”

Jasmine hissed behind her, “Don’t you talk to her like that—”

“Like what?” Ethan shot back at her.

That stopped her. All the wind she had ready to let loose fell flat. Her eyes darted to his, and she couldn’t look away.

Ethan leaned back against the car beside Logan, and shoved his hands into his front pockets. His shoulders hunched forward, but his gaze never left hers. They were dead-locked as he added, “You’re going to tell us what to do? You’re going to tell me what to do, Jaz?”

“Stop.” Her throat moved as she visibly swallowed. “Ethan—”

“No, Jaz. You picked your side. We’re not friends with you guys anymore.”

Her shoulders flinched as if he’d punched her.

He nodded in my direction. “And you know why.”

Tijan started writing later in life, after she had already graduated college with a different direction in mind and a different degree under her belt. Hitting the brakes on that path, she taught herself how to write a good book and began posting at sites such as Fictionpress, along with Wattpad. After receiving such encouraging messages from readers, she self-published Fallen Crest High and has continued throughout the year. She continues to keep writing NA books!

Fallen Crest Family (Fallen Crest High, #2) by Tijan

5 Crest Family Falling Stars

DO NOT READ THIS REVIEW UNLESS YOU HAVE READ Fallen Crest High (book 1).

Okay, sorry, I had to get that out of the way, but there’s no way I can talk about book 2, without giving away book 1. So with that said….

I’M HERE TO SQUASH ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. YEP! You heard me. Look, I love a damsel in distress story line and SURE Sam is a little “weaker” in this book, but so what?! Is Mason and Sam’s dynamic still epic as ever? YES!

So here’s the disclaimer, this book is different from book 1, BUT it’s just as good! Promise! On with the review.

Mason and Sam are together and it picks up right where book 1 left off. The main issue in the whole book is the family, as in Sam’s crazy, bitchy mom. Mason and Sam are working very hard in staying together, but Sam’s mom is throwing a lot of shit in between them.

This is a Mason and Sam against the world kind of book and I love it. I don’t like it when the Hero and Heroine can’t get their shit straight and they attack each other, no, Mason and Sam do not do that, thank god. Of course there are plenty of drama, tension and WTF moments, but that’s what we love right?

Sam is a bit weaker and this is explained fully. You get it and you sympathize. Mason is as lovable as ever, oh and you still want to fuck him. Just admit it, I proudly do. This one is also steamier and again, thank you!

So, go into this one with an open mind and if you had any reservations, just give Fallen Crest Family a shot. There’s still plenty of Loan and extra characters involvement, so you will get your fix and will be fully satisfied.

I still love Tijan and this is still one of my favorite series.

Carter Reed by Tijan

5 Dangerous Stars

Carter was lethal. His body was craved and molded to perfection.

I loved Carter Reed.  From start to finish, it was everything I look for in an alpha-damsel-in-distress read.  If you like what I like, then you will love this book.  It’s also has the same feel to Killing Sarai (to me at least)

NOW, I have to put that big fat Disclaimer - > This book has received a lot of 4 star reviews.  Let me tell you why this book isn’t a home run for everyone.  I LOVE damsel in distress books and Emma isn’t the strongest heroine, but I love her.  Read the blurb and read the reviews. You will know if this is right for you.

Emma witnesses her roommate getting raped and she kills the attacker.  The attacker happens to be a part of the mob.  Emma can’t go to the cops and she knows it’s only a matter of time before she will be killed.  She goes to Carter Reed to help her.  Carter is the best friend of Emma’s brother and she hasn’t seen Carter in ten years.  Carter Reed isn’t the same boy she remembers growing up with, but she needs someone to protect her.

No other man had made me feel as he had and being back at Octave opened the floodgates.  I wanted him even more.

First off, I picked up this book because of two things, Tijan and the cover. Yeah, cover snob, whatever, but that’s me.  Then I read the blurb and I was like oh yeah.  The book starts off with a HUGE BANG, it’s kind of slap-you-in-face kind of thing and it’s good.  You slowly form a relationship with Emma and kind of get to know her as a character.  She’s a little stubborn, wish-washy, but really loyal and determined.  I usually don’t like wish washy girls, but it adds tension to the story.

And of course the reason for the whole book. Mr. SEXY CARTER REED.  SWOON Major overload.   I love him, I want him and damn.  He’s a book boyfriend and lord, I have a major crush on him. I know, I’m getting carried away, but you get the point.  He’s a killer and a brute, what more could you ask for? I like everything about his character, from his past hardships, how he handles tough situations and the way he reacts to Emma.  You will love him, I promise.

His eyes were dark with lust and need. I knew he saw the same in me, but I didn’t care any longer. I needed him…

No matter what path Carter would take us, I’d go with him. I was becoming him… I’d always follow.

Carter Reed has some fast pace moments, but mostly there’s a lot of character and story development.  There aren’t any flash-backs and there are bits of Carter’s POV sprinkled in, which I really liked.  Mostly, it’s a book about a girl in trouble and she seeks help.  There are a lot of obstacles and things thrown at Emma and Carter to keep you on your toes. The story isn’t really steamy, yes there are some nice parts, but you can tell it’s not a major focal point, but there is plenty of sexual tension.

There isn’t an epilogue, which doesn’t bother me, but I know a lot of readers like it, but there is an ending.  For now, it’s a standalone novel, but I cross my fingers that Tijan will write a second book and make it a series.

Images of the two of us flashed in my mind and I grew wet again. He was going to be the death of me. A part of me knew that once I felt him inside of me, it wouldn't be enough. I would want more. I would never be satisfied, and when he made me come, that'd only been the teaser. My body was primed and ready again. My hand slid down his muscular back. It felt all the ridges, all the dips and curves. A dark pleasure spread through me when I felt his muscles contract as he turned his head to see me.

This was mine.

He was mine.

He groaned and had me against the wall in a second. His hands grabbed my hips and positioned me at an angle before he slammed his into mine. I felt the bulge in front of his pants. That was for me. All for me. He bent over me and lowered his lips just above mine as he thrust against me.

I couldn't breathe. My hands held onto his arms. The muscles there also moved underneath my touch, as if wanting more.

"This," he growled in a whisper against my lips. "This is what I wanted that night. I couldn't contain myself and I had to taste you, but tonight is the night I really have you. You're mine, Emma. You always have been."
I nodded, so weak against his touch.

"Mine."

He was mine as well, but I didn't say it. Not yet, though everything in my body was aching for me to do so.
He took my hand again and led the way out into the hallway. People stopped and watched us as we left. I knew it was because of him. Carter was lethal. His body was carved and molded to perfection. His eyes were cold while his face resembled an angel's. Everyone knew who he was, where he had come from. Even the media went into a frenzy when he was seen in public. However, he moved like a ghost, how he trained his men to be, so those moments were rare, and this moment wasn't any different. His staff had seen him before, but they all went quiet in the presence of a deadly panther.

A wave of possession rocked through me. My legs shook as I remembered my climax. This creature who held my hand was mine, as I was his. I belonged to him and I gasped in silence as I felt his claim sink into my blood. It went deep to the bones. Everything in me belonged to him, and as I followed him through his club, I knew that I was becoming addicted to him. My hand yearned to touch his back again, to slide across his muscles and so much more.

I bit down on my lip. This ache wasn't going to go away. The ache between my legs and the ache that resonated deep inside of me grew every time I was with him, every time he looked and touched me.
A soft sigh left me and he glanced back.

I was scorched by his gaze. His wolf eyes saw into me. I was stripped bare to him, no matter what I wore or how many walls were around my heart. He saw through everything. His hand tightened around mine, and he lifted it. His lips grazed against the top of it. My eyes closed, the ache doubled between my legs at that soft caress.

"Sir." A man stepped out of the shadows. Another guard.

Carter stopped as he listened to what the man had to say. He spoke quietly so I couldn't hear, but both glanced at me.

"What?"

His eyes narrowed and darkened. His hold on my hand became possessive.

I asked again, "Carter? What is it?"

He turned, his decision made, and he curved a hand into the place between my shoulders blades. He started to walk with me down a hallway. As we got further along, I saw Mike waiting for us and then I recognized it was the same box where I had left Noah and Theresa. I dug my feet in. I didn't know what was going on, but I knew he was going to leave me there. Something came up and he needed to handle whatever it was, but I didn't want to be left behind.

"Emma?"

"No." I shook my head. "You're not leaving me." Not again.

Book Review - Fallen Crest High (Fallen Crest High, #1) by Tijan

5 SUPER LOVIN' FAMILY STARS!!!!

If you haven’t read any of Tijan books, then I’m here to tell you, stop what you are doing and pick one up.  Yep, just do it, go put the word “Tijan” in your search box on Amazon and then do your one click thing, b/c you will get your money’s worth and then some.

Oh I should warn you, this review will be filled with major fan girl moments. Do I have a crush on Tijan? Maybe.  I would like to take this moment to thank all the people that have pushed me to read this book. I even had an author bestie tell me.  Yeah, I have an author bestie, she doesn’t know that b/c I’m like stalker, but anyhow, she told me to read Fallen Crest High several times and so I finally did.

I FUCKING LOVED FALLEN CREST HIGH!

Oh I loved Mason

I loved every-single page.

If I could make love to a book, I would. TMI? I will reframe and will go on with the review now.

DISCLAIMER - > THIS IS NOT A LOVE TRIANGLE BOOK.
This is about two brothers and a girl.  It’s filled with 100% adorable, laugh-out-loud cuteness.

Cheaters are weak. They’re selfish and they’re cowards. No, I’m not a cheater and I never intend to be.

Samantha’s (Sam) mother just told Sam that her parents are getting a divorce.  Sam and her mother will be shacking it up with the man her mother cheated with.  Sucks right?  So Sam has to move in with her mother’s lover and guess what?! He has two sons. Shocker.  The two sons are Mason and Logan.   All three kids don’t want anything to do with each other.  Mason and Logan go to Fallen Crest Public and Sam goes to Fallen Crest Academy, they are rival schools.

Okay, so that is just the TIP of what the book is about.  Look, I don’t want to go all into it, but let me break it down for you by my personal opinion of the characters and then my overall feelings.

Sam
Sam is an incredible, strong, awesome and a little bitchy Heroine.  I love her.  I usually don’t like bitchy Heroines, but damn it, I secretly want to be her.  There’s a lot of shit she has to do deal with. She’s got her dysfunctional family, friend problems and people treating her bad at school.  You want to give the girl a hug, but really she doesn’t need it b/c she’s like fucking tough.

Logan
Oh lord, he’s funny, strong, and a major asshole.  Logan is the type of guy you just want to watch a movie with because he will talk the entire time talking and make you laugh the entire time.  If you think funny is sexy, then that’s Logan.

Mason
Where do I begin with him. SIGH.  My author bestie told me I would love him b/c he’s a major brute, alpha male (yadda yadda) you know what I mean and damn, she’s right.  I LOVE Mason.  He is a book boyfriend and yes I even have dreams about him.  Just half the shit he does in the book, you are thinking to yourself, Mason, can you do that to me?!  He’s arrogant, broody and kind of mysterious, but in the end he’s passionate and loyal. Um… yes please.

He was sculpted as a statue. The added comfort he had with his body, which he didn’t give a damn if he were naked or wore clothes, took my breath away.

This was my first Tijan read and it will not be the last. I finished this book at 2AM and I started book 2 right away. I’m that much of a psycho.  You guys get it. When I love something, I love it to the fullest and I will admit to you now, I loved this book and I love the author.

READ THIS BOOK and then message me so we can talk about it.
