Max (Cold Fury Hockey #6) by Sawyer Bennett [REVIEW]

The ice is a cold mistress. As the league’s most eligible goalie, Max Fournier has access to his fair share of willing puck bunnies, but right now he’s more interested in bringing home another championship than a one-night stand. A romantic at heart, Max believes in love; he’s just not great at relationships. So when he finally meets a nice girl who’s not blinded by his celebrity, he’s feeling the heat—and the pressure to save her from herself.

Between working two jobs and raising her sister’s kids, Julianne Bradley doesn’t have time for sports—or men. All she knows about Max is that he’s the sexiest customer to ever grace her gas-station counter. And he sees past her tired eyes and makes Jules yearn for things she can’t have: a glamorous fling, a passionate lover, and the time to enjoy both. Max makes her feel like Cinderella, even though Jules has enough baggage to crush a glass slipper. Luckily, he’s no prince—only a fierce competitor determined to win her heart.

5 Mr Family Man Stars
Max is the sixth book in the Cold Fury Hockey series. Max is a standalone and each book is about a hockey player on the team. THIS IS MY FAVORITE book in the series. I absolutely loved this one. I’m a sucker… wait for it… for a single mama book!

Julianne isn’t your typical mama. She’s a twenty-something gal dealt with some bad news. Her sister dies and she is left with her three kids. I’m all about the damsel in distress storyline and this book takes the cake. Not only she has to take care of these kids, but she has to work two jobs to support them because she was living pay check to pay check when she was single.

Max is the kind of guy to swept Julianne off her feet and that he does. How does a man woo a girl that is working two jobs, taking care of kids and doesn’t even have enough time to sleep? He stalks her of course. It’s really cute.

I devoured this book and I couldn’t get enough of it. To see Max just smitten with Julianne and willing to do anything to get her attention was 100% adorable. I gobbled up the cuteness! I love how guarded Julianne was too because her kids were her top priority.

To me, Max was written a little different from the other books in the series. I found this one more laid back with less angst. It was just simply a sweet read about a man acting as a white knight trying to save a girl.

There is enough mild drama to keep you interested. The fans question why Max is with someone like Julianne and Julianne has to deal with the pressure of dating and raising the kids.
Overall, it was a great read and like I said, my favorite book in the series.
