Bad Business (Bad Boys of Sports #2) by Nicole Edwards

Stone: Football is more than a game to me. It’s my calling. Becoming the Dallas Wranglers’ starting quarterback before I retire is a dream come true, but with a few wins under my belt, suddenly everyone wants a piece of me. And even though being in the spotlight has its perks—beautiful women, star treatment, more beautiful women—what really gets me sweating is the watchful gaze of my sexy-as-hell PR coach, Savannah Andrews. The catch? Her father is kind of my boss. . . .
Savannah:
In my family, football is big business. When your dad owns an NFL franchise, you learn a thing or two about schmoozing, and from what I can tell, it’s not a skill in Jason Stone’s playbook. Sure, the veteran quarterback is literally larger than life. With broad shoulders, muscles on muscles, and a mouth made for kissing, he may be one of the hottest men in the league—and I should know. I’ve turned down enough players to start my own all-star team. But those guys just wanted to get close to my father. Meanwhile, Stone is getting temptingly close . . . to me.

REVIEW

3.5 Sports and Love Stars

This is my first Nicole Edwards book. She’s known for her super steamy reads and if you are sports and steam fan, then this book is for you.

There’s nothing like a simple sports book with low angst to get you through a rainy day. Bad Business is a standalone and is part of the Bad Boys of Sports series.

Stone is the new quarterback to the team. He’s not your typical Hero you read. He wanted to play for a new team and he plans on retiring after the season. I guess he’s just really mature and he’s ready to move on to something else. I was kind of surprised by Stone since I expected him to be full of himself, but I found him really sweet.

Savannah’s dad owns the football team and she also manages the PR. I’m not too sure she took the PR stuff seriously but she does run around the football boys a lot. She is serious about her job and she’s all about work. I felt like Savannah wasn’t very mature, but I have to remember she’s in her twenties and her Daddy owns the team so there you go. I like her attitude towards work, but she had a thing for Stone real bad.  Meaning she wanted to get into his pants.

But not everything is that simple right?

There were some slow moving parts in the book and I felt like there was a lot talk between friends and the main characters on how to make choices, so I valued the interactions between Stone and Savannah.  Also the steamy parts broke apart from all of the talks. I’m an action kind of girl, that’s just me.

I understood the issue and I knew Savannah had a job, but Stone is so sweet you couldn’t help but root for him. I also like it when the Hero chases after the Heroine.

Overall, it was a pleasant read and it won’t be the last from this author.
