Coming Home by Lydia Michaels
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
3 SUPER ANGST Stars
It’s Evelyn and Lucian’s last book! What can we expect in this last installment?
Angst! Drama, A lot of fighting and STEAM
But it wouldn’t be a Lydia Michaels read if it wasn’t.
Coming Home starts where Breaking Out left off. Evelyn is angry with Lucian for giving her away to Parker. Let me just say it. Evelyn isn’t my favorite person right now. I’m kind of angry with Lucian as well. Why didn’t Lucian just tell Evelyn why he was giving her away? Also, why can’t Evelyn just see Lucian’s side and move forward?
So Evelyn can’t get past Lucian’s abandonment and she decides to move out. Of course this makes all Mr. Dominate Lucian crazy mad, but what can he do? Evelyn doesn’t have a penny to her name so she “borrows” money from Lucian to help her get back on her feet. I also didn’t understand this. I get why she had to borrow money but I didn’t get why she needed independence. She’s kind of doing the opposite of what she wants to do, but that’s just me.
Don’t fret Lucian and Evelyn are not apart for long. I mean, Lucian has to grovel for forgiveness and Evelyn has to find herself. The thing that had my hair ripping out was just all the drama. Evelyn is so dead set in taking care of herself, she doesn’t see how wonderful Lucian is. Yes, Lucian is a bit bossy and kind of overbearing, but he wouldn’t be the Hero if he wasn’t.
Towards the middle, Coming Home shifts and I welcome this change of pace and scene. I feel like Lucian and Evelyn’s story is building into something more and it’s kind of nice. I could have cared for less though. I was ready to wrap things up around the 70% mark, but we got a bit of extra I guess.
If you are a fan of the series, you will want to be there for the end. It's a crazy ride!
