Dear Agony: A Novel by Georgia Cates

I traded homelessness on the streets of New Orleans for a luxurious bed covered by the finest linens.
I traded dumpster diving for dinner in the finest restaurants.

Dear Agony,

You've been my shadow, following me through childhood—filling my days and nights with terror and uncertainty. You cleverly disguised yourself as some form of pain or suffering as I grew into a young woman. We were unwavering companions … until I severed our ties.

I traded myself to a stranger—Bastien Pascal.

I have a good life within my platonic and mutually beneficial companionship with Bash.
He’s my friend. My mentor. My roommate.

One Last Sin (The Sin Trilogy, #3) - Georgia Cates

Bleu MacAllister’s fate lies in the hands of the enemy. Complicated circumstances have rendered her helpless to escape their clutches so she must await rescue by her less than lily-white knight. All is right again when she’s back in the arms of the man she loves until long buried secrets are unearthed. With them, Bleu finally discovers her mother’s killer along with far more than she could possibly imagine. Can she find happiness with a husband who will go to any length to keep her safe, even if it means denying her of the one thing she believes she wants most in this world?

5 Lasting Stars
One Last Sin is the last book in The Sin Trilogy.  You must read them in order.
IT’s OVER!!!!! < ---- SAD DAY
It’s been a long time since I’ve given a whole series five stars. I absolutely love this series.  From page one I was engrossed with the story and I couldn’t get enough of my beloved and favorite characters, Sin and Bleu.
If you are debating if you should finish or even start this series, I am screaming at you to do so. It’s fantastic!  It’s epic and it’s a great love story.
Spoilers from the previous books
One Last Sin picks up where The Next Sin left off. Bleu is kidnapped and Sin is in jail. Oh what a cliffy right? I didn’t know how I was going to make it to the next book.
Do not fret Sin and Bleu are not separated throughout the book because I hate it when that happens, but Georgia Cates did not let us down. Bleu is concentrating on surviving and keeping her babies safe while she is kidnapped. She can’t tip her kidnappers off with her pregnancy so she tries very hard to outwit them and escape. I love how mama-bear Bleu gets.
In the meantime Sin is doing everything he can to get out of jail and save his wife, but the process is taking some time. I love Sin so much and now that he’s a dad, I love him even more.  With the babies and being a leader Sin is a bit stressed, but he also has to find Bleu’s mother killer too. Oh the drama! I enjoyed that part too. I liked figuring out who was who and who could potentially be the killer. It added a nice mild tension to the book.
Bonny will never be just another woman to me. She’s my life. My love. My heart. My everything. Always
What I want is for us to fade into each other until we can’t tell where one beings and the other ends.
I’ll always do what I must to protect you and our babies. Lie. Steal. Cheat. Kill. Whatever it takes.
I enjoyed how fast pace the book read. The book never dragged and I enjoyed reading the moments Bleu and Sin shared with each other. It’s ridiculously cute and I couldn’t stop smiling! I also like reading the secondary characters and I wouldn’t mind if there were novellas about them *nudge nudge*. I adore the mom, I love the sister and heck I even like the doctor Jamie.
Overall, it was the perfect conclusion. I feel satisfied and very happy.

I watch the number above the elevator doors increase as the lift rises to our floor. Twelve. Thirteen. Fourteen. Three more to go. It’s too many when your husband pins your body against him while his hand roams downward to rub between your legs.
He’s fervent to say the least.
Warm breath moves over my ear. A tingle races down my spine and goosebumps erupt over my skin. I’m sure there’s a camera on us right now. All elevators have them. “We’re probably giving a thrill to whoever is watching the security footage.”
“Don’t give a fuck. The thrill I’m feeling is much more important to me right now.”
The doors open and we sprint toward our room. Sin is so anxious his first three attempts at unlocking the door are unsuccessful. “Son of a bitch. The keycard isn’t working.”
I hold out my hand and he places the card in my palm. I slide it in and pull it slower. Click. “Open sesame.”
“Fuck. That was sexy.”
All I did was open a door. “I put the keycard in the hole and pulled it out.”
“I know,” he growls while pulling me through the door toward the bed.
We shed our coats and go to work on all fabric barriers preventing our bodies from being bare against one another. He undresses himself while I do the same, his eyes never leaving my body. “Shite. I may come before you get naked.”
My eyes immediately drop to the crotch of his boxer briefs. He has a huge erection tenting his underwear with a wet spot covering the tip. “Don’t you dare.”
I undress faster. More than one stitch pops as I pull my dress over my head. Articles of clothing drop randomly to the floor with no regard for wrinkling.

6 I want to make little Sin baby Stars!!!

It’s no secret, I really really really really LOVE The Sin trilogy. I didn’t think I could love The Next Sin as much as I loved A Necessary Sin, but I did!

I have a major book hangover and I LOVE IT!

What I love the MOST about The Next Sin is that Bleu and Sin are never separated for too long. I always get nervous reading the second book of any series when the couple separate. I wonder how long I will have to read before there’s interaction and if the next book is a filler.

Well that never happened.  The Next Sin picks up right where A Necessary Sin left off and I was simply HOOKED from page one.
I could get enough. I was reading like a mad woman and I never wanted it to end! Thank god, I get another book!
I simply Love Bleu and Sin. I love their dynamics and interactions. I love how much Sin loves Bleu and I loved how things left off in A Necessary Sin.
It’s an epic and true romance story.
Sin is ready to take back Bleu. He needs her as his wife so his family will not go after her. Bleu is on the run, but she’s taking a break from running to be with her dying father.
I totally got this. I understood why Bleu needed to be with her dad. Sure, you have people coming after you, but family is family. I love this side plot and I loved the relationship between Bleu and her dad. It was really touching.
Bleu has reservations towards Sin because of the history. She is just learning that Sin’s father didn’t really kill her mom. Now she doesn’t know what to do with herself and with this news and her dying father, it’s all rather distracting.
I could have gone either way if Sin’s father really did kill Bleu’s mom, but I liked the new direction.  The Next Sin is basically Bleu and Sin working out the issues (to marry or to not, to be together or not) and finding the true killer.
I loved that Bleu is focused on finding her mom’s killer. She has a lot of theories and she investigates them. Lately I’ve been in a mystery/suspense mood, so this really worked out for me.
I never really knew where the story was going to lead me and oh boy, I was just punched in the face and SHOCKED!!!! It was awesome.
Overall, I love this book, I love this series and I love Georgia Cates. I want the next book ASAP!

Sinclair Breckenridge’s POV:

I’m in the background of Bleu’s life, as I have been for weeks. I have eyes on her at all times, even when they’re not my own. I safeguard her from harm. It’s all I’ve done since tracking my lass down in a small town in Mississippi, right outside of Memphis. I act as her protector from afar and she has no idea. She believes she’s hidden from The Fellowship—and me—but she couldn’t be more wrong. I’m always here, keeping a watchful eye on her and the MacAllister family.

I often need to be reminded that this is Bleu’s world. Every person she has contact with isn’t a threat but there’s an enormous problem with that. I have no idea who’s friend or foe.

I was concerned when Bleu disappeared at the bar with a man earlier tonight. I was on the verge of barging into the back until my lass came out on stage to perform with the band. I don’t think I’ve ever been so surprised in all my life. I knew she played but I never pegged her for a public performer. That doesn’t seem like my Bonny at all.

But I guess I don’t really know the real Bleu MacAllister. I only know the woman she pretended to be.

A Necessary Sin (The Sin Trilogy #1) by Georgia Cates

Bleu MacAllister is consumed. A horrific childhood incident has caused every decision in her life to revolve around bringing a monster to justice. With years spent studying The Fellowship, an organized crime brotherhood of liars, thieves, and killers, Bleu will rely on her skills as a special agent to cut Thane Breckenridge off at the knees. 5 In to Me Stars

Georgia Cates has surpassed my expectations!

I LOVED LOVED LOVED Necessary Sin. It was delightful, delicious and deliriously good!

Bleu witnesses her mother’s death because of this, she almost gets killed herself. But the killer never stayed to check if Bleu was really dead.  Years later, Bleu has one thing on her mind…

Vengeance.

She’s a trained killer and works for the FBI. She knows the man who killed her mother and she wants his blood.  He’s the head crime boss and the best way to get close enough to him is through …

His son.

Sinclair will become the head crime boss once his dad steps down. He knows his fate and doesn’t have any issues with it.  Until now.  There are many rules Sinclair must abide by and one of them is that he can never date a girl outside the organization, but he can’t stay away from Bleu.

BLEU

I LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED BLEU! What makes me love her so much is that usually when I read strong Heroines, especially the ones that are trained killers, they “act” bad and really tough. Bleu never “acted” to me, she just seemed to be hardcore and trained.  I loved it. I liked actually getting to know her and I really did feel what she felt.

I felt her pain when she witness her mom died. I felt her anger as she planned avenge her mother’s death. That my friend is called character development and I got it.

Sin

Not only do I love a strong Heroine, but I love a matching strong Hero. I totally got Sin. I got his ambition and his issues. I really appreciated the story being told by both POV’s because if I didn’t get it, I don’t think I would have connected so well with Sin. I loved how he cares for Bleu but doesn’t really want to. I love all the obstacles he faces and how he can’t date girls outside of the organization, sure he can have sex with them, but he can’t “claim” them.

I really like the whole claim thing. It feels different than “mine” for some reason and it just really clicked with me.

Overall

You would think the whole story would be about Bleu trying to kill her mother’s killer, but it is not. It’s the subplot of the book, but A Necessary Sin is mostly about Bleu and Sin’s relationship. Which I loved.  The attraction between Bleu and Sin is off the charts and yes there is insta-lust, kind of, but it doesn’t take away from the story.  I also liked getting to know the organization and how it worked. I felt like it added a lot of elements to the story and it kept me interested.

I was reading this book like mad and I didn’t want to end. I was looking at the percentage at the bottom of my tablet and I was crying because I was getting closer to finishing.  You will not be disappointed with this one. I simply loved it.

Sinclair Breckenridge’s POV:

“People don’t realize the things they say without uttering a word. Something as simple as the lift in the corner of one’s mouth can reveal thoughts and emotions better than any voice. Body language—it’s nature’s crafty trick, second only to falling in love.”

“Aye. It’s a shan.”

“A shan?”

“Americans would probably use the word shame.”

“Oh. You sound like you know from experience.”

I have no experience. I’m far too intelligent for such nonsense. “When one falls in love, that person makes the decision to become vulnerable. It’s not a path I’d ever willingly choose so, no. What about you? Has Bonny Bleu ever been in love?”

“I’ve tried dating but it never matters what I do. I’m always what’s wrong.” She’s nervously twisting the ring on her thumb. “I’m able to capture other’s emotions in photos yet I can’t get a grip on my own. I avoid connecting with people. I make myself an island so it gives me an excuse to remain alone.” She sighs and looks embarrassed. “Wow. That sounded like a psychological profile … or something.”
