The Bachelor Auction (The Bachelors of Arizona #1) by Rachel Van Dyken [Review]

NOW IN PAPERBACK!!!!
Cinderella never had to deal with this crap.

Jane isn't entirely sure that Cinderella got such a raw deal. Sure, she had a rough start, but didn't she eventually land a prince and a happily-ever-after? Meanwhile, Jane is busy waiting on her demanding, entitled sisters, running her cleaning business, and . . . yep, not a prince in sight. Until a party and a broken shoe incident leave Jane wondering if princes---or at least, a certain deliciously hunky billionaire---maybe do exist.

Except Brock Wellington isn't anyone's dream guy. Hell, a prince would never agree to be auctioned off in marriage to the highest bidder. Or act like an arrogant jerk---even if it was just a façade. Now, as Brock is waiting for the auction chopping block, he figures it's karmic retribution that he's tempted by a sexy, sassy woman he can't have. But while they can't have a fairy-tale ending, maybe they can indulge in a little bit of fantasy . .

The Matchmaker's Replacement (Wingmen Inc. #2) by Rachel Van Dyken [REVIEW]

Wingman rule number two: never reveal how much you want them.

Lex hates Gabi. Gabi hates Lex. But, hey, at least the hate is mutual, right? All Lex has to do is survive the next few weeks training Gabi in all the ways of Wingmen Inc. and then he can be done with her. But now that they have to work together, the sexual tension and fighting is off the charts. He isn’t sure if he wants to strangle her or throw her against the nearest sturdy table and have his way with her.

But Gabi has a secret, something she’s keeping from not just her best friend but her nemesis too. Lines are blurred as Lex becomes less the villain she’s always painted him to be…and starts turning into something more. Gabi has always hated the way she’s been just a little bit attracted to him—no computer-science major should have that nice of a body or look that good in glasses—but

Empire (Eagle Elite #7) by Rachel Van Dyken [Review]

I have lost everything.
My purpose.
My love.
My soul.
Death knocks on my door, I want to answer, but every time I reach for the handle--the promise I made her, brings me back.
So I breathe.
I live.
I hate.
And I allow the anger to boil beneath the surface of a perfectly indifferent facade.
I am broken, I dont want to be fixed.
One last trip to New York, one last chance to redeem a lost part of the mafia family. The Empire is crumbling and it's my job to fix it, my job to mend the pieces that were scattered over thirty years ago.
The only issue is, the only way to fix, is to do something I swore I'd never do again.

Untouchable Darkness (The Dark Ones Saga, #2) by Rachel Van Dyken

To love a Dark One is to invite death...

It is wrong to love her.

It is worse to want her.

It is sin to consume her.

I desire all three.

I've been given thirty days to prove my love to another immortal--as a human. Cursed to use nothing but the side of myself I've always despised to win her affection. I am Cassius, the King of the immortals, A Dark One.

And today I tasted fear for the first time.

Rip by Rachel Van Dyken [Review ]

Pretty things aren't meant to be broken.
But I broke her, and now we both have to pay the price.
I'm her nightmare.
I'm her savior.
And now that I have her signature on an ironclad contract, I own her body and soul.
She doesn't remember me.
She will.
It's inevitable.
Because as much as I know I need to stay away, for fear of unlocking the memories I helped her father bury--I can't.
She was the apple in the Garden, dangled in front of me, her core so tempting and sweet. A voice whispered. Just. One. Bite.
I bit.
I tasted.
I fell.
Welcome to the world of the Russian mafia, where death, is your only future.

Elude (Eagle Elite #6) by Rachel Van Dyken [Review]

Twenty-Four hours before we were to be married--I offered to shoot her.
Ten hours before our wedding--I made a mockery of her dying wish.
Five hours before we were going to say our vows--I promised I'd never love her.
One hour before I said I do--I vowed I'd never shed a tear over her death.
But the minute we were pronounced man and wife--I knew.

I'd only use my gun to protect her.
I'd give my life for hers.
I'd cry.
And I would, most definitely, lose myself, to a dying girl---a girl who by all accounts should have never been mine in the first place.

I always believed the mafia would be my end game--poisoning my heart, while it claimed my soul. I could have never imagined. It would be my redemption.

The Dark Ones by Rachel Van Dyken [Review]

To touch a Dark One is death.
To talk to an immortal is suicide.
Yet, I've been marked by both.
A Vampire.
And the King of the immortals.
My life is no longer my own.
And now I know the truth, my life was never mine to begin with.
It was theirs.
It's always been theirs.

The Consequence of Loving Colton by Rachel Van Dyken

It’s all fun and games…until someone’s heart is broken.

They’re not kids anymore, but Milo Caro is certain that Colton Mathews will only see her as his best friend’s little sister for the rest of their lives. After all, he made that clear the night before she left for college. But four years later, her brother is getting married and Colt’s the best man—and guess who is the best man’s last-minute date?

Milo vows to use the wedding to either claim the smoldering firefighter’s heart or douse this torch for good. When Max—her best friend from college, who may be carrying a torch of his own—crashes the party, they devise a plan to make Colt see what he’s missing. But after Colt catches on, he decides to cook up his own revenge.

Now it’s personal. Colt and Milo are at war, and between Max’s questionable acting methods, an unfortunate trip to jail, and a maniacal fiancée, what could possibly go right?

4.5 Belly-Laugh-Out-Loud Stars

The Consequence of Loving Colton (TCOLC) is a standalone and is part of the Consequence series by Rachel Van Dyken.

TCOLC is perfect for The Bet series and Rachel Van Dyken fans. You will be laughing non-stop. You better have fresh panties ready because it’s pee-in-your-pants hilarious

I couldn’t get enough.

My abs aches because I laughed so much. Okay that’s a lie. I do not have abs, but I do ache from laughing so much.

Milo is madly in love with Colton. She has been ever since she could remember. Colton is her childhood friend, best friend and her older brother’s best friend. Milo and Colton shared one kiss and that was it.

From that day forward Milo knew Colton would never see her the way she sees him.

Isn’t unrequited love a you know what?

Four years later, Milo is back in town for her brother’s wedding. She has been away for college and hasn’t seen Colton that much, despite how close they use to be growing up.

I completely loved this plot. I loved the unrequited love. I love the brother’s best friend and childhood crush storyline. Oh my gah, it’s so good!

So many things are thrown in and so many things happen. Here’s a tiny recap.

- Gay? College best friend Max
- Slutty grandma < --- every book should have one of these
- Accident prone older brother <--- Totally love
- Crazy bride < --- like really, crazy crazy

You throw all of that into a book and you got a Rachel Van Dyken yummy goodness read. It’s delightful, entertaining and slap-my-face-funny.

I had SUPER good times reading this

Milo is in town for the weekend and she just wants to attend the wedding and go back to school, but when she sees Colton she becomes a mess. Her feelings are all over the place and she doesn’t know how she will survive the weekend.

Colton hasn’t seen Milo in four years and he doesn’t realize how much he missed her until she’s thrown in his face during the weekend, like really she’s thrown in to his face a few times. It’s funny I swear.

Like I said, if you are a fan of The Bet series or you just love Rachel Van Dyken like I do, then read this! You will be aching all over, but in a super good way.

“Aw, sweetie.” Max laughed and pulled me in for a hug. I winced as my pounding head made contact with his chest. “Believe me, if we would have slept together, you would remember, even drunk, you would remember.”

“Someone’s cocky.”

“Confident.” He released me. “So are we upset or are we okay?”

“We?”

“Partners.” He winked. “For life. You and me, we’re a we.” He lifted the coffee to his lips. “Hey, that rhymed, how badass am I, after getting drunk last night?” He nodded his head. “Sharp as a tack.”
The coffee slid out of the cup and onto his hand.

Lots of cursing followed.

Then flailing.

“Yeah.” I took the coffee away. “Sharp as something.”

“So.” Max reached behind him and pulled out my diary. “Curious minds want to know, when you drew that picture of the house you and Colton were going to live in once you got married in front of the queen of England, did you purposefully draw the dog without a tail or were you just confused?”
“Give me that!” I lunged for the pink diary. “How the hell did you find it?”

Max held it above his head and took a sip of coffee. “People always hide interesting stuff under their mattresses, though I had you pinned for more of a signed ’N Sync poster, considering all the stupid hearts around JC Chasez’s face on the torn-up poster in your closet.” The freak had gone in my closet too? “This is just as good. Though I have to admit, I’m a bit disappointed that you chose Prince Harry to walk you down the aisle. Do I mean nothing to you?”

“I had a thing for royalty!” I shouted, my headache making a fierce pounding in my temples.
“Mmm.” Max set his coffee down but kept the diary above his head. “One last question.”
“If I answer, will you give it back so I can burn it?”

“I’ll give it back.” He held up his hand. “But burning this would be a crime. It’s like reality TV only worse, I seriously cried real tears and it wasn’t because the story was sad. Oh, and P.S. It took you five years to spell nightmare right, just thought I’d let you know.”

5 Rise from the Ashes Stars

Let’s get the big elephant out of the room. Phoenix is a rapist. I can get over the killing and maybe the female beating, but rape? **CRING**

I didn’t think I could do it. I mean I had my doubts from the very first book.

BUT…

I love **GASP** Phoenix De Lang!!!

Crazy. I know. But Rachel Van Dyken can write some really good stuff. After five books, I still love this series and I’m salivating for more.

It’s Phoenix’s story. So, he was forced to rape and abuse girls throughout his childhood life. This has given Phoenix some major daddy issues and well general issues all around.

He’s nervous around girls and has ZERO intentions of starting anything with anyone.

Now, he must protect Tex’s sister, Bee.

Bee, a girl who has a major crush on Phoenix.

I love BEE! She’s too cute, she’s adorable and I love how positive she is. The thing that I love so much about Ember is that I felt like Rachel Van Dyken was going back to the roots of the story. We are back to the school, classes and all the drama that is attached to going to college.

I love that stuff! While Bee goes to school, Phoenix acts as her bodyguard. Oh boy do I love this story line. I also love Phoenix and Bee’s dynamics.

Phoenix continually pushes Bee away (as he should because he’s kind of messed up) and Bee continues to push Phoenix’s buttons because well, it’s just too fun to read! I love how mean Phoenix is, but he isn’t mean like wow-I-really-hate-you mean, but more like wow-you-are-mean-oh-god-it-makes-me-want-you-more mean.

I’m serious people!

I could have read pages and pages of this stuff. Of course we still get tiny glimpses of the gang, Nixon, Chase, Tex and Sergio.

Ember was really fast pace and I felt like I never knew what was going to happen and probably because there was no foreshadowing!!!! It’s a pet peeve of mine, when I read a bit of foreshadowing at the beginning of the book, and somebody is very known for that (not naming names), BUT I didn’t get it in this one and that made me a SUPER DUPER HAPPY GIRL.

I love Ember, I love the series, I love Phoenix and I still love Rachel Van Dyken.

I can’t wait for Sergio’s book!!!!! (it’s the next one)

READ IT!

PROLOGUE:
Phoenix
“Do it,” my father spat. “Or I will.”
I looked at the girl at my feet and back at my father. “No.”
He lifted his hand above my head; I knew what was coming, knew it would hurt like hell but had no way to fight back — he’d already starved me of my food for the past three days for arguing, for trying to save the girl and her cousin.
His fist hit my temple so hard that I fell to the ground with a cry. The click of his boots against the cement gave me the only warning I’d have as he reared back and kicked me in the ribs; over and over again he kicked. The girl screamed, but I stayed silent. Screaming didn’t help; nothing did.
I waited until he was done — I prayed that he would kill me this time. I prayed so hard that I was convinced God was finally going to hear me and take me away from my hell. Anything was better than living. Anything.
“You worthless—” Another kick to the head. “—piece of shit!” A kick to my gut. “You will never be boss, not if you cry every time you must do the hard thing!” Finally, blessed darkness enveloped my line of vision.
I woke up from the nightmare screaming, not even realizing that I was safe, in my own bed. With a curse I checked the clock.
Three a.m.
Well, at least I’d only had one nightmare — that I’d remembered. I’d been living with Sergio for the past week; his house was so big that I’d basically taken the east wing, and he’d taken the West, said he’d hated living alone anyway. I wasn’t stupid; I knew the guy wasn’t exactly a big fan, but it worked. I needed to stay in the States while I figured shit out.
And I wasn’t ready to leave. Not when I needed to learn all I could from Nixon. Not when I had responsibility.
And not when I had those black folders freaking burning a hole in my mind.
Luca hadn’t just left me an empire; he’d left me secrets. I wasn’t sure what was worse, knowing everything there was to know about those I was supposed to be protecting or knowing that at any minute one of them could turn on us.
“Hey!” Bee barged into my room.
“Damn it!” I pulled the blankets over my naked body, my heart picking up speed at her tousled hair and bedroom eyes. Tex’s sister, Tex’s sister. My body wasn’t accepting that — physically it wasn’t accepting any information other than she was beautiful.
And it was dark.
I looked away, scowling.
“I heard screaming.” Bee took a step forward, her perfume floating off her body like an aphrodisiac or drug, making me calm, making me want something I had no business wanting.
“Yeah, well…” I gave her a cold glance. “…clearly I’m fine, so you should go. Actually, why are you here? You know you live with Tex, right?”
She shrugged and sat on my bed. I clenched my fists around the blankets to keep from reaching out to her. It was getting harder and harder to ignore her warmth — when I lived in a constant state of near-death cold.
“He’s with Mo, and they need privacy. I’m not stupid. So I asked Sergio if I could move in for a while.”
“You did what?” I asked in a deadly tone, one I was sure would probably give her nightmares later.
She grinned. “I’m your new roomie!” Bee bounced on the bed and sent me a shy look from beneath her dark lashes. “Admit it, you miss our slumber parties.”
Forget the nightmare — I was looking at it.

Elite (Eagle Elite, #1) by Rachel Van Dyken

Elite (Eagle Elite, #1)Elite by Rachel Van Dyken
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Stars

OH.MY.GOD!!!!!! WHY DID IT TAKE ME SO LONG TO READ THIS?!!!!

I had no idea what Elite was about, I just knew it was a Dyken book and figured, light and fuffy? Well, it was so MUCH MORE!

It was adorable

It was intriguing

It was gripping

It was action pack

It was intense!

I LOVED IT!!!

Tracey got a scholarship into a very prestigious college. It’s not your typical college, they wear uniforms, there’s a class system with key cards and cliques. I actually just watched a Korean Drama that had a similar story line and I loved it, so Elite was a home-run for me too.

Since Tracey is on scholarship, she’s kind of the odd duck out. Nixon is the head man on campus, everyone respects him and he kind of rules the school. For some reason, Nixon gives Tracy a hard time and she doesn’t know why.

How adorable is the story line? Damsel in distress, Hero picking on the Heroine and Heroine just going through the emotions… yes please! I simply devour plots like these. The book was good from start to finish. The beginning was hilarious! Nixon did pretty mean things to Tracy and the things that were done to Tracy were just down right horrible, but in a funny good way. Who doesn’t want to read about a mob throwing eggs at the Heroine?

Of course there’s a reason for everything and when you find out, the book only becomes more entertaining. Plot twist like these hold a place in my heart, I really do enjoy them. To me it’s like stepping into another world and I can just become a part of it. Let’s just say, Nixon is very mysterious and dangerous.

I was never bored, I was never frustrated and I was entrained throughout. You want to know if there is a love triangle? Kind of… not really. There’s always the Hero’s best friend right? Chase is in the picture, but it’s really a small glimmer (something I can handle).

Is there a cliffy? Not really, closed one. Will I go to book 2? HECK YEAH!

I even love the cover, although it didn’t really tie in with the story, but the models were much better than the original.

The down side of the book… realistic? No. Do I care? Hell no! Give me fantasy, thank you very much!

It’s a great book and Dyken is amaze balls.
