Overruled (The Legal Briefs #1) by Emma Chase

As a DC defense attorney, Stanton Shaw keeps his head cool, his questions sharp, and his arguments irrefutable. They don’t call him the Jury Charmer for nothing – with his southern drawl, disarming smile and captivating green eyes – he’s a hard man to say no to. Men want to be him and women want to be thoroughly cross examined by him.

Stanton’s a man with a plan. And for a while, life was going according to that plan.

Until the day he receives an invitation to the wedding of his high school sweetheart and mother of his beloved ten-year old daughter. Jenny is getting married — to someone who isn’t him.

That's definitely not part of the plan.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4.5 Still Loving Andrew Stars

What and ending to book one right? I knew there would be a cliffy, but for Andrew to have a wife and not tell Aubrey. Bad Andrew, very bad.

Well, this continues the story and we get a lot more steam and the relationship builds a bit more.

Aubrey still works with Andrew and both have issues to overcome. Aubrey has controlling parents who aren’t supportive her of ballet career and Andrew has a past that Aubrey desperately wants to know.

I love how Aubrey and Andrew have this intense relationship based on pure lust, but slowly throughout the read, you see them getting to know each other. I want to know Andrew’s past, I want to know what happened six years ago and why his ex-wife is on parole. What happened?!

Andrew is still the dominate jerk and continues to push Aubrey away. You want to hate him, but you can’t help but love him still. He’s just too sexy.

Whitney G has a way to keep you engrossed and wanting more. I was never bored or annoyed. I was completely engaged throughout the book.

On to the final chapter…

5 I heart Andrew Stars

WHERE DO I BEGIN?!!! Oh gah, what a read

I’m not a fan of books broken into parts. I waited for this series to be completed and it was well worth the wait.

Whitney G writes witty and sexy books. I devour them and always want more.

Andrew is partner at a law firm. He uses on-line dating to find no strings attached relationships. He doesn’t have any friends, except for one. Alyssa is a girl he met on-line. They kept an internet relationship for six months, but Andrew wants to meet her. Alyssa is hesitant.

Review

I didn’t know anything going into this book. I just knew there was a picture of a girl that was a ballerina and already that perked my interest.

Andrew

Sexy Andrew, what can I say, I love the name. Is it the same name as my husband? Maybe, but regardless, Whitney G. always writes dominate Heroes. Andrew is successful, powerful and knows what he wants and he wants Alyssa. I love the way he talks the way he presents himself, everything!

Alyssa

Adorable Alyssa. She’s a young something trying to double major in pre-law and ballet. She wants to be a ballerina, but her parents want her to be a lawyer. I really liked this. Her character is unique, in the sense she’s soft with a harsh exterior. She doesn’t want to mess up the relationship she has with Andrew so she never intends to meet him, but fate has other plans.

Overall

Book 1 is short, but it’s jam packed with stuff. There’s awesome banter between Alyssa and Andrew, sexy steamy scenes that is off the charts and just when I think the story can only go one way, it changes direction.

I think what I liked so much about this part of the series is that it wasn’t typical. At one point I figured how it would play out, but didn’t and I loved it! It’s a fast, fun and easy read. The ending will leave you speechless and wanting more.
