Turbulence by Whitney G. [REVIEW]

Fuck me recklessly
Kiss me harder.
Take me again and again…
He and I met under a cloud of clichés:
Boy meets girl. Boy charms girl. Boy fucks girl.
Our story was supposed to end right after the orgasms, right after we went our separate ways.
But then we saw each other again…
And neither of us could walk away.
Our rules were simple.
Our passion was scandalous.
Our hearts were supposed to be safe…
But when you find something so all-consuming—something so intoxicating and inescapable, you’ll risk everything you’ve ever had, even if you’re destined to crash and burn.
This is us.
This is our messed up love.
This is turbulence.

No, really. She’s just my best friend...

5 Sincerely Stars

Sincerely, Carter is a standalone novel, written by the fabulous Whitney G.

Whit did it again. She created a funny, witty, delicious, could-not-stop-reading book! I loved Sincerely, Carter from start to finish. It was so FUNNY!!!! I couldn’t stop smiling. My face is sore from the laughter.

Carter and Arizona are best friends, since the fourth grade, or fifth grade, the date is yet to be determined. Regardless, they are inseparable.  The beginning starts with Carter writing to Arizona in elementary school. He basically tells her he hates her.

From there, they forge this crazy friendship. Years later, during the last years of college, they are still best friends. With no *gasp* lingering feelings. I really loved this. I loved how pure and innocent the relationship between the two of them were.  They truly didn’t see each other more than what they saw, just pals, buddies, amigos and it was perfect for them.

No one understood the relationship, especially the boyfriend and girlfriends. Carter and Arizona do not have the best of luck with romantic relationships, probably because they drop everything for each other.  Carter and Arizona do have other friends and I loved reading about them too. I love getting the other “friends” perspective. It added a nice dynamic to the book and it made it really comical.
Throughout the book, we read letters between Arizona and Carter during their childhood and I loved that too. I found those moments really cute and super adorable. You got a really good insight into the relationship.

The book shifts and it just kicks everything up a notch. Somehow the lines start to blur and “friends” slowly become more. Neither one wants to destroy the perfect relationship, but with school ending and both moving on the next part of their lives, things start to change.

Even in fourth grade (metal mouth included), I’d always thought she was cute – pretty even, but the woman walking toward us was more than that. Much more than that…

Sincerely, Carter reminds me a lot of Rachel Van Dyken lighter books. It’s just really face-paced, smart and SUPER light-hearted. These are the types of reads that always put me in a good mood. I also love love love best friends getting together. There was hardly any angst in this book. It’s just all around a sweet and fun read.

If you are a fan of Whit or just like happy books, then I recommend!

Reasonable Doubt Full Series by Whitney Gracia Williams

My cock has an appetite.

A huge and very particular appetite: Blonde, curvy, and preferably not a fucking liar...(Although, that's a story for another day.) As a high profile lawyer, I don't have time to waste on relationships, so I fulfill my needs by anonymously chatting and sleeping with women I meet online.

My rules are simple: One dinner. One night. No repeats.

This is only casual sex. Nothing more. Nothing less.

At least it was, until "Alyssa"...She was supposed to be a 27 year old lawyer, a book hoarder, and completely unattractive. She was supposed to be someone I shared law advice with late at night, someone I could trust with details of my weekly escapades.

But then she came into my firm for an interview--a college-intern interview, and everything fucking changed...

5 ANDREW is my BOOK BOYFRIEND Stars

Reread Audio Version

If you haven’t read Reasonable Doubt, you are crazy and if you have read it, you need to listen to the audio version now. I can’t stress how much I enjoyed listening to this beautiful, sexy and witty series.

Audio

The Audio version is fantastic! This is my first audio book with dual POV! Meaning, I got a male and female narrator. I absolutely love the narrators. Aubrey’s voice is ridiculously cute and you can really feel her emotions. I love listening to her getting embarrassed, shock, fluster and turn- on. I’m such a fan of hers that I looked for other books she narrates so I can listen to them.

Andrew has a deep and confident voice. If you had to listen to an alpha voice, it would be him. I enjoy his transition between voices and when he cuts someone off (since Andrew does that a lot).

Both voices works and it made the book flow so nicely. I could listen to this book again. Whitney did well in picking the cast.

Review

I wrote a review for each book, but this is my overall review on the series.

Andrew is a lawyer. He’s also very cocky, mean and loves sex with random women. He uses a lawyer website to meet and hook up with women. Aubrey is a pre-law student. She’s also a ballerina (cute right?). She wants to be a ballerina professionally but her parents will only pay for her tuition if she’s in law school too.

Andrew and Aubrey form a friendship on-line. Aubrey uses the site to get help with school work, but she pretends to be an established lawyer. Andrew doesn’t have friends but he likes talking to Aubrey so he continues his friendship with her via texting, calling and emailing. But eventually it’s not enough and he wants to meet her in person.

I love Andrew’s character. Whitney has a way in creating these crazy, strong, alpha Heroes. You just want them to take you and have their way with you. I love the way Andrew pursues Aubrey. He’s so determined to get into her pants and he makes it very clear.

AND IT’S SO HOTTTT. THIS WHOLE BOOK IS HOT!!!

Aubrey is too cute. She’s beautiful, young and smart and all she can think about is ballet, but now she’s consumed with Andrew. She knows she can’t be with someone who has sex casually, that’s not her, but Andrew makes it very hard for her to resist him.

Each book takes you deeper into their relationship. There’s tension between Aubrey and her non-supportive parents. There’s Andrew’s issue with commitment and they are HUGE! Andrew also has a past and it’s kind of like the underlying story throughout the series. Bits and pieces are revealed and I really enjoyed those parts.

Reasonable Doubt is written well with developed and strong characters, engaging story-line and addictive sex scenes.

READ IT or LISTEN TO IT or like me DO BOTH!

Reasonable Doubt: Volume 3 by Whitney G.

Reasonable Doubt: Volume 3 (Reasonable Doubt, #3)Reasonable Doubt: Volume 3 by Whitney G.
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Dreamy Andrew Stars

It’s the ENDING… NO!!!!! Everything is revealed and wow

So book 2 kind of left off with a glimpse of Andrew’s past and this is what I have been waiting for. What happened to Andrew, why did he change his name, what will he do now? So many questions and they are all answered.

I loved the pace of book 1 and 2, but the series does shift and book 3 is a little more dramatic and a little longer.

Andrew is not Mr. Nice guy. He’s kind of a prick and I still love him, but at times I wanted to punch him in the face and tell him to stop being such a jerk to Aubrey. But Aubrey is no wall flower and she doesn’t put up with Andrew’s crap and I love it!

More of Andrew’s past is revealed and it’s not what I thought. It’s so exciting to see it finally come out.

The one thing I noticed was when someone asked a question, another question would be asked to answer it. A lot of the characters did that, so it was difficult for me to see totally different POV’s.

I did enjoy the steamy scenes and reading the banter between Andrew and Aubrey. Overall the story was great and it was a good conclusion.

4.5 Still Loving Andrew Stars

What and ending to book one right? I knew there would be a cliffy, but for Andrew to have a wife and not tell Aubrey. Bad Andrew, very bad.

Well, this continues the story and we get a lot more steam and the relationship builds a bit more.

Aubrey still works with Andrew and both have issues to overcome. Aubrey has controlling parents who aren’t supportive her of ballet career and Andrew has a past that Aubrey desperately wants to know.

I love how Aubrey and Andrew have this intense relationship based on pure lust, but slowly throughout the read, you see them getting to know each other. I want to know Andrew’s past, I want to know what happened six years ago and why his ex-wife is on parole. What happened?!

Andrew is still the dominate jerk and continues to push Aubrey away. You want to hate him, but you can’t help but love him still. He’s just too sexy.

Whitney G has a way to keep you engrossed and wanting more. I was never bored or annoyed. I was completely engaged throughout the book.

On to the final chapter…

5 I heart Andrew Stars

WHERE DO I BEGIN?!!! Oh gah, what a read

I’m not a fan of books broken into parts. I waited for this series to be completed and it was well worth the wait.

Whitney G writes witty and sexy books. I devour them and always want more.

Andrew is partner at a law firm. He uses on-line dating to find no strings attached relationships. He doesn’t have any friends, except for one. Alyssa is a girl he met on-line. They kept an internet relationship for six months, but Andrew wants to meet her. Alyssa is hesitant.

Review

I didn’t know anything going into this book. I just knew there was a picture of a girl that was a ballerina and already that perked my interest.

Andrew

Sexy Andrew, what can I say, I love the name. Is it the same name as my husband? Maybe, but regardless, Whitney G. always writes dominate Heroes. Andrew is successful, powerful and knows what he wants and he wants Alyssa. I love the way he talks the way he presents himself, everything!

Alyssa

Adorable Alyssa. She’s a young something trying to double major in pre-law and ballet. She wants to be a ballerina, but her parents want her to be a lawyer. I really liked this. Her character is unique, in the sense she’s soft with a harsh exterior. She doesn’t want to mess up the relationship she has with Andrew so she never intends to meet him, but fate has other plans.

Overall

Book 1 is short, but it’s jam packed with stuff. There’s awesome banter between Alyssa and Andrew, sexy steamy scenes that is off the charts and just when I think the story can only go one way, it changes direction.

I think what I liked so much about this part of the series is that it wasn’t typical. At one point I figured how it would play out, but didn’t and I loved it! It’s a fast, fun and easy read. The ending will leave you speechless and wanting more.

Giveaway, Mid Life Love: At Last (Mid-Life Love, #2) by Whitney G

Mid Life Love: At Last (Mid Life Love, #2)
If you ask me if Jonathan Statham makes me happy, I’ll say ‘Absolutely. He’s the man of my dreams and I can’t wait to marry him.’ If you ask me why my ex-husband Ryan is currently one inch away from me—staring into my eyes and pressing his hand against my cheek, I’ll say, ‘I have no fucking idea…’

Claire Gracen finally has the life she’s always wanted: A career she loves, a man who’s willing to do any and everything for her, and friends that show her the true meaning of the word ‘friendship.’

As she and Jonathan prepare to make the ultimate commitment to one another and plan the wedding of her dreams, she quickly realizes that the hurtful past she left behind in Pittsburgh is a lot closer than she thought.
Sexy, unpredictable, and as charmingly clever as ‘Mid Life Love,’ ‘At Last’ will captivate you from the first page and never let you go.

5 Oh-my-god, give me Mr. Statham Stars

My review will reference what’s revealed from the blurb… just so you know.

Thank you so much Whitney for allowing me to be a part of this. I was a beta reader for Mid Life Love: At Last and I enjoyed every second of it.  I read the unedited, non-final version and loved it. Oh and yeah, there’s a character named after me, it’s minor, but it’s there and that tickled me to no end.

So Jonathan and Claire are getting married, YAY!  Okay, when you read book 2 of any series, I am always cautious, I think to myself, “Am I going to like this?” or “how will this be different?” well, let me just say, Whitney did good, I was on my toes, I was happy and oh the STEAM!!!

The beginning starts off with Jonathan and Claire prepping for the wedding, but of course a bunch of shit gets thrown their way, does this deter Jonathan? Uh no.  If you like the alpha male, oh lord… but we will get to him in just a sec, PROMISE!  We have Claire’s ex popping up, but it’s the not the typical lover’s tension you would get with a love triangle, it’s just different. I think it’s because Claire is so strong and her character kind of grew. Claire is a bit frustrating at times, but don’t worry, Mr. Statham will ring her in and then some.

In book 1, Mid life Love, Claire was a bit insecure because of her age, but in Mid Life Love: At Last, she’s really confident and you can tell she is comfortable in her skin. Fuck yeah, she’s 40 and fuck yeah she’s shacking it up with a younger guy.  This use to irk me, but I’ve come to terms, you can’t help who you fall in love with right?  Hooray for cougars!

Oh the many ways I love my Mr. Statham. He’s so FUCKING ALPHA! If you want a guy to say, oh shut-the-fuck-up and suck-my-dick, then Mr. Statham is your MAN!   I’m serious and if you think that is offense, well, why are you reading my review? Just kidding… kind of… okay, not really.

Oh and the steam! LOVED IT!  It was kinky, it was good, it was enjoyable.  Don’t worry, it’s not the same stuff too.  I don’t know about you, but I like unique sex scenes, please, give m public, please give me strip tease, please give me spanking, oh my!

If you like the Mid Life Love, then you will love Mid Life Love At Last, you will not be disappointed.
