Lucas Fournier is only serious about one thing: hockey. The league’s fun-loving charmer, Luc is always up for a good prank or a great lay, and he has no intention of settling down. But being traded to the Carolina Cold Fury—and to play alongside his big brother, Max—is no joke. With another title in sight, the last thing Luc wants is to let his new teammates down. To succeed, Luc will need to keep his head in the game and the most . . . er, demanding member of his anatomy in check. But when temptation hits, Luc hits back harder.
Museum curator Stephanie Frazier has always put business before pleasure, which just about explains her nonexistent sex life. But when Stephanie meets Luc at a champagne-fueled gala, she finds herself flirting like crazy—and going home with the uninhibited athlete. For one night, she learns what passion is all about. She just never counted on the little surprise Luc leaves behind. And that’s when things really start to get . . . interesting.

4 Stars
Lucas is a standalone and is part of the Cold Fury series.
I must warn you! Be very careful when you read the reviews
you don’t want any spoilers. I won’t spoil anything in the book, but I just
want to say again, BE VERY careful in reading reviews. If you plan on reading
this book anyhow, just do it. Read it blindly because it’s the best way. Or
just read the blurb and if it seems like it’s a book for you, then go for it.
I’ve read several books in the series and some have been
better than others and I have to say I enjoyed Lucas. He’s like the typical
male hero, he’s a player and doesn’t want to commit, until he meets Stephanie.
Stephanie was a difficult character to warm up to. I liked
her, I just didn’t love her at first. She’s very cold and distant. Her parents
are fairly unloving and thus has made Stephanie very guarded and she has a HUGE
wall around her heart. She pushes almost away and you can understand her situation.
She doesn’t even have a best friend.
Something unexpected happens and everything changes for the
both of them.
What I liked reading most about this book was the dynamics
between Stephanie and Lucas. I found the chemistry between them cute and they
had a friends with benefits kind of relationship going on.
You also get plenty of the previous characters in the book
and that is always fun to read too.
Lucas was a meaty book with low angst, but a lot of
character development and buildup. I would have liked it to be a touch faster,
but there’s something about a book when the author tries really hard to make
sure the two main characters fit and with Stephanie and Lucas they do.
