November 9 by Colleen Hoover [REVIEW + GIVEAWAY]

Fallon meets Ben, an aspiring novelist, the day of her scheduled cross-country move. Their untimely attraction leads them to spend Fallon’s last day in L.A. together, and her eventful life becomes the creative inspiration Ben has always sought for his novel. Over time and amidst the various relationships and tribulations of their own separate lives, they continue to meet on the same date every year. Until one day Fallon becomes unsure if Ben has been telling her the truth or fabricating a perfect reality for the sake of the ultimate plot twist.

"November 9 is yet another breathtaking novel by Colleen Hoover that's full of blushing, gushing, and heartache. I loved every page and breathed in every beautiful word."

—Anna Todd, Author of the After series

5 Waiting to Fall in Love stars
I love November. I met my husband in November. I got married in November. My husband’s birthday is in November. November has my favorite holiday. And I love that November is during the fall season. November is an important part of my life and I loved that November 9 is such an important date in the book.

Colleen Hoover needs no introductions. She has a super fan following and I was beyond excited about this book. November 9 is a standalone and is PERFECT for any romantic. This book consumed me. I read it one sitting and thank goodness I had friends that already read it, because I was messaging them like mad.

November 9 will make you feel an array of emotions. You will smile, laugh, bang your head a bit and even cry, but I wouldn’t change a bit of it. Not one sentence, page or chapter. It was simply perfection, but how could it not? It’s a Colleen Hoover book.

The beginning is sweet and I loved the way it starts.  Fallon is the daughter of a famous actor. She was once a semi-famous actress, but after being dealt with a bad hand of cards, she is sort of starting over with her life. She wants to get back into the acting scene, after a two year break and she decides to move from LA to NY.

On her last day in LA, she meets Ben.

Oh my goodness, can you feel the tension?! The Heroine meets the Hero on the last day before her major move?! What can happen in 24 hours?

A lot can happen in 24 hours and it does.

Ben over hears the conversation between Fallon and her dad. Her dad isn’t the nicest guy and Ben decides to be well … a hero and save Fallon by pretending to be her boyfriend.
Yes, it’s that cute!

Ben and Fallon instantly click and there’s magic chemistry between them. I gobbled this up like crazy. I couldn’t get enough of the energy between the two.  Colleen just has a way with words that sucks you in. I loved Ben and Fallon’s first encounter. It’s a bit awkward, but adorable and totally sweet.

They spend the day together and realized they don’t want the unique relationship between the two of them to end, but they also don’t want to long distance relationship. They decide to meet on the same day, once a year.

When I got to this part, I realized every Colleen Hoover book is so different! I was a bit nervous and I didn’t know how I would feel about reading two characters meeting once a year, but I promise you, it’s really good. There are no lag or filler moments because each part of the book is important and has meaning.

I can’t empathize how important each part of the book is.

I wasn’t surprised by my reaction with this Colleen Hoover book. This was definitely a winner for me.  My review only touches the basic elements of the story. You get so much more and I loved it.
Not everything is what it seems and as the relationship progresses, you realize there is so much more than what is presented at the surface. My lips are sealed though!

“… I don’t know if you’ve realized this, but you’re alive, Fallon. And every time you look in the mirror, you don’t have the right to hate what you see”

“I think she expected me to let her go without a fight, but she’s not the kind of girl you choose your battles for. She’s the kind of girl you fight to the death for.”

My final thoughts… I recommend… READ IT!

As a Texas native, I've been very lucky to meet Colleen Hoover many times. I think I've meet her about six times! She probably thinks I'm a stalker. It's always a treat in seeing her. It amazes me how she handles her success and it's wonderful she gives back. I love her bookworm project. For more photos click here.  For more information on the bookworm project click here.
