Cocky Bastard (Cocky Bastard #1) by Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland [Review]

He was someone who belonged in my wildest fantasies instead of a rest stop in the middle of Nebraska.

A sexy, cocky, Australian named Chance was the last person I expected to run into on my cross-country drive.

When my car broke down, we made a deal. Next thing I knew, we were traveling together, spending sexually-tense nights in hotels and taking unplanned detours.

My ordinary road trip turned into the adventure of a lifetime. It was all fun and games until things got intense.

I wanted him, but Chance wouldn’t make a move. I thought he wanted me too, but something was holding him back.

I wasn’t supposed to fall for the cocky bastard, especially when I knew we’d be going our separate ways.

All good things must come to an end, right?

Except our ending was one I didn’t see coming.

4 On the Road Stars

I love it when two authors get together.  It’s like getting the best of both worlds.  I was looking for a fun read with a sexy Hero and I got it!

Cocky Bastard is a standalone is a part of the Cocky Bastard series. The book starts out super adorable and I love road trip books.  Chance is an Aussie and a part of me wants this book to be on audio so I can hear his voice **dreamy eyes**. At a rest stop, Chance meets Aubrey.

No, there’s no insta-love, the opposite, pure insta-hate and I loved it. Chance and Aubrey, both have one common goal, to get to California. When Chance’s motorcycle breaks down, Aubrey gets roped into driving him with her!

Don’t you love the plot?! The first half of the book is Chance and Aubrey getting to know each other as they take on an adventure on the road. The chemistry is mega there and I love the tension between the two characters.

Chance is not interested in a relationship and I love how mean but cute he is towards Aubrey. He doesn’t want to give her mixed signals. Chance is my type of guy. He’s good looking and has a great personality and the kind of mean-ish attitude works perfect for me. Aubrey likes Chance but she is self-conscience because she doesn’t look like the models he is use to dating. I love how Aubrey is adventurous and open minded.  She wants to be with Chance but she is going to throw herself at him.

The second part of the book shifts and I REALLY liked this. I felt like it changed up the pace of the read and it was just refreshing and addictive to read. I couldn’t put it down.  The book is pretty lengthy so you get plenty of meat.  I would also say the steam is pretty mild, but the tension makes up for it.

Overall, a good read on a rainy day by two fabulous authors.
