Baby Daddy by Kendall Ryan

We met in a trapped elevator.
Emmett was on his way to work, sophisticated and handsome in his tailored suit and tie.

I was on my way to the sperm bank.
Awkward, right?
At thirty-five, my life hadn’t taken the path I thought it would and I was tired of waiting—I wanted a baby. And I was ready to take matters into my own hands to make it happen.

After our ill-fated elevator encounter, Emmett insisted on taking me to dinner—he also insisted on something else—that I ditch my plan involving a turkey baster and let him do the job. He would be my baby daddy. He was a wealthy and powerful CEO with little interest in diapers or playdates. And since he didn’t want kids, I’d be on my own once his bun was in my oven, free to go my own way.

But once his baby was inside me, it was like a switch had been flipped, and I got a whole lot more than I ever bargained for.

Bountiful (True North #4) by Sarina Bowen

No last names. No life stories. Those were the rules.

Once upon a time a cocky, copper-haired tourist sauntered into Zara’s bar. And even though she knew better, Zara indulged in a cure for the small-town blues. It was supposed to be an uncomplicated fling—a few sizzling weeks before he went back to his life, and she moved on.

Until an accidental pregnancy changed her life.

Two years later, she’s made peace with the notion that Dave No-Last-Name will never be found. Until one summer day when he walks into her coffee shop, leveling her with the same hot smile that always renders her defenseless.

Dave Beringer has never forgotten the intense month he spent with prickly Zara. Their nights together were the first true

From this Moment by Melaine Harlow

It was like seeing a ghost

When my late husband’s twin brother moves back to our small town, I want to avoid him. Everything about Wes reminds me of the man I lost and the life we’d planned together, and after eighteen long months struggling just to get out of bed, I’m finally doing okay. I have a new job, an amazing support group, and a beautiful five-year-old daughter to parent. I don’t want to go backward.

But I’m drawn to him, too. He understands my grief and anger and loneliness like no one else—and I understand his. Before long, that understanding becomes desire, and that desire becomes uncontrollable.

We make excuses. We blame our sorrow. We promise each other it will never happen again.

But it does.

Ghosted by J.M. Darhower

He's a troubled young actor, Hollywood's newest heartthrob, struggling with fame as the star of the latest superhero franchise. Through scandal after scandal, addiction on top of addiction, a flurry of paparazzi hunt him as he fights to conquer his demons.

She's a single mother, assistant manager at a grocery store, existing in monotony with her five-year-old daughter. Every day when she goes to work, lurid tabloids surround her, the face of a notorious bad boy haunting her from their covers.

A man and a woman, living vastly different lives, but that wasn't always the case. Once, they were just a boy and a girl who bonded over comic books and fell in love unexpectedly.

When Kennedy Garfield met Jonathan Cunningham back in high school, she knew he had all the makings of a tragic hero. With stars in his eyes, and her heart on her sleeve, the pair ran away together to follow their dreams.

Until It Fades by KA Tucker

Stacked Up (Worth the Fight #6) by Sidney Halston [Review]

Working two jobs to support her infant daughter is harder than anything Penny Richards has ever done, but it sure beats living under the rules of her stepfather, a television preacher who demands a picture-perfect family. And if Penny hadn’t struck out on her own, she never would have met Travis Calhoun. The intensely physical heavyweight brawler has a way of drawing out her wild side. But Travis lives fast, with no responsibilities—and that just isn’t for Penny.
Most of the women in Travis’s circle wear tight clothes, high heels, and tons of makeup—not pearls or plaid headbands. But once he works past Penny’s inhibitions, Travis discovers a kindred spirit who longs to trust someone with her body, and her secrets. Still, Travis can’t help but wonder if this rich girl is just slumming it before she returns to her privileged life. Now it’s up to Penny to prove that she wants her hard-edged, hard-loving fighter just the way he is.

Slow & Steady (Alphas Undone #2) by Kendall Ryan [Review]

When Greyson Archer tosses a twenty on the stage of a strip club, the last thing he expects to see are the haunted green eyes staring back at him. Finley should be home raising her infant daughter and baking cookies, not tucking singles into her G-string and giving lap dances.

Greyson can't deny that he'd like his own private show, but there's not a chance in hell of that happening. The last time the former Navy SEAL saw her she was dressed in black, holding a folded flag and sobbing that it was all his fault... and he agreed with every single word. He couldn't do anything to help her then, but he can now.

Finley deserves better than this dingy club, and when an obsessed customer crosses the line, Greyson leads the rescue and will do whatever it takes to make amends for their broken past.

Be My Hero (Forbidden Men, #3) by Linda Kage

Be My Hero (Forbidden Men, #3)Be My Hero by Linda Kage
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4.5 Pick is my hero Stars

I was recommended Be My Hero because of my thing for single moms. It’s very rare I read a single mom read and haven’t loved and let’s just say, I’m pretty much on track.

Be My Hero is a great book. It has all the elements of a dramatic read I am looking for, with character development, drama, damsel in distress, alpha male and unique storyline.

This Book Packs a Punch

This is Pick and Eva’s story. Each book is a different character. You can read them out of order (I did and I usually don’t), but I would suggest you read the first book first because there’s a bit of that story that trickles into this one.

Eva is the rich snobby princess until she gets pregnant and her family kicks her out of the house. She doesn't have the best of childhood, being abused by her father, she is ready to leave, but without money and seven and half months pregnant she isn’t in the best situation.

Eva’s cousin, Reese (main Heroine from the first book) lets Eva stay at Reese and Mason’s place. I like Eva. She has the qualities I look for in a Heroine. She’s a single mom, a damsel and in a need of a Hero. You really feel for the girl and the author builds up Eva’s character a lot. You feel like she is your best friend.

Pick works two jobs to support his wife and baby, *gasp*. No, this isn’t a love triangle, so don’t gloss over to the next review. Pick only marries his best friend for insurance purposes, which is pretty realistic. However Pick’s wife is no picnic and oh boy, she is the villain you will love to hate. I love a nasty villain, especially one I can sink my teeth into and she’s darn right evil. She’s pretty abusive and doesn’t care for her baby.

When Pick is little he gets a future glimpse of his life, which consists of a wife and three kids. Because of that he cleaned up his act and has gone down the straight path. He’s not sure if it will come true, but he has been holding out for a long time for it.

When Pick finally collides with Eva, he believes his future may come true. He wants to pursue her, but his son comes first.

What I love most about this book is the storyline. The Hero gets a glimpse of his future, both have babies and both are kind of single. How random is that? So much happens it will make you head spin but in a good way. There’s a lot of people going against Eva and Pick, with ex’s, family and jealous lovers, you will just be turning the pages like mad.

Oh and if you are a Reese and Mason fan, then this book is a nice little treat because they are in it a lot and I couldn’t get enough.

I recommend.

Trapped by Beverley Kendall

Trapped (Trapped, #1)Trapped by Beverley Kendall
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Redeeming Stars

I LOVED TRAPPED

Okay, I guess I have to write a tiny disclaimer, I just had a baby, so I’m in baby land and books that have babies and single moms do it for me. This is my first book by Beverley Kendall and I’m a complete FAN!

Summary

At 18 Paige becomes pregnant. Mitch questions if the child is his and leaves Paige. I know and before you click to the next review, just wait. I promise you, it’s a good read. When Bree, their daughter, is 7 months Mitch has a change of heart and is ready to be a dad.

Review

The best thing about Trapped is the dynamics between Paige and Mitch. I love first loves. I love that Paige and Mitch were once lovers and Bree was the cause of their break-up. I love that Mitch needed to redeem himself. It’s tough to love a Hero who abandons their child. Believe me, I had to go deep within to see the better side of him. I think that’s what worked so well for me, by just reading Mitch’s inner struggles and guilt.

Things that worked for me

- Single Mom

- Lost love

- Redeeming Hero

- Cute baby!

Paige is an adorable single mom. She works at a dead end job and gave up college to raise Bree. She is trying to get over Mitch and move forward with her life. Mitch is a big mess. He never really handled the separation and partied and drank in college. Now, several months later, he’s trying to make amends and of course Paige isn’t making it easy on him.

When Paige first sees Mitch for the first time since the break-up, my heart was on edge! Oh the tension, the good drama, and the issues they need to overcome. Not only did I like reading about Paige and Mitch’s relationship, I also liked the side characters or what I like to call their support system. I liked reading the parts on how Paige’s best friends felt and Mitch’s family reactions.

I didn’t have any expectations on this novel so I’m completely blown away on how much I enjoyed reading it. If you are like me and love reading about single moms and heroes needing to redeem themselves, then this one is for you.

Filthy Beautiful Lust (Filthy Beautiful Lies, #3) by Kendall Ryan

Filthy Beautiful Lust (Filthy Beautiful Lies, #3)Filthy Beautiful Lust by Kendall Ryan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Sexy Pace Drake Stars

I love this series so much. I think the only thing I could wish for was that I wished it was longer! But that’s the thing with Kendall Ryan reads, they are short, sweet and SUPER STEAMY.

It’s Pace and Kylie’s story and let me do a little dance, because I’ve said it many times before and I will say it again.

I LOVE A SINGLE MOM STORY!!!!

You throw in a cute adorable baby and I’m melting. I just had a baby so I’m a tad biased.

Pace is a play boy. He loves women and doesn’t see himself settling down. Kylie is a single mom with a baby boy. She’s been burned before and has no intentions of getting hurt again. Her priority is her son and what’s best for the both of them.

Kylie

Totally love Kylie. She’s super mom and I want to be her. She even signs to her kid! I need to do that. I get Kylie completely. She’s guarded and kind of disheveled. She spends her days in yoga pants and hardly has time to shower. So true and it makes her more endearing.

Pace

Pace is the perfect guy for Kylie. Yeah, he’s a player and he’s never dated a woman with a child, but that’s what makes him so appealing. Gah, he’s so sexy. I love how persistent he is towards Kylie and yes I love his reactions towards Kylie’s son. Who doesn’t like a Hero that plays with babies?!

Overall

I love Kendall Ryan and I love this series. Filthy Beautiful Lust just worked for me. It was cute, sassy and made me smile.

How We Deal with Gravity by Ginger Scott

How We Deal with GravityHow We Deal with Gravity by Ginger Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Adorable Stars

I’m a sucker for single moms and pretty covers. It’s my first Ginger Scott read and overall I liked How We Deal with Gravity, it just needed to be polished a tad bit.

Summary

Avery is a single mom raising her son, Max who has autism. Mason is a singer/song writer and after a disastrous small tour, he’s back in town trying to figure out what his next step is. Avery and Mason grew up together, but were never friends. Avery’s always had a crush on Mason, but now she’s not the shy little girl she once was.

Review

I loved Avery. I love strong moms and strong moms raising a slightly difficult child just makes my heart melt. I loved reading her POV and getting her insights on how she deals with Max because let’s face it, being a mom is tough, but being a single mom is tougher.

I’m on the fence with Mason. I guess I’m spoiled with famous sexy rockers or rich billionaires. There’s a sweet quality to Mason and it’s sad he had a bad tour and he’s coming back home with nothing, but it’s kind of pathetic. I know, I just wished he wasn’t so down in the dumps if you know what I mean.

I however liked the chemistry between Avery and Mason. I also liked how they grew up together so there’s that added character build-up I crave.

Mason first meets Max and Mason is kind of a jerk. I wasn’t fond of that, but I guess it’s to show Mason grow throughout the read. Avery is the strong mama bear and protects Max fiercely, which I love. How We Deal with Gravity is basically about two people at a crossroad in their life, but somehow they both look towards each other to better themselves.

At some parts it did drag and I wanted just a tiny bit more angst, but overall, it’s a sweet read and it will make your heart swoon.

An ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review
