For some people, silence is a weapon.

For Mallory “Mouse” Dodge, it’s a shield.

Onyx (Lux #2) by Jennifer L. Armentrout [Audio Review]

Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…

Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems.

Something worse than the Arum has come to town…

The Department of Defense are here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we're linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And there's this new boy in school who’s got a secret of his own. He knows what’s happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that's possible. Against all common sense, I'm falling for Daemon. Hard.

But then everything changes…

Be with Me (Wait for you, #2) by J. Lynn

Be with Me (Wait for You, #2)Be with Me by J. Lynn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Super Cute Stars

I really like this series and although Be With Me didn’t leave me shocked and awed like Wait for You, I still enjoyed Be with Me a lot.

Teresa is your typical college gal. She’s in love with her brother’s best friend and knows Jase will never be with her. Jase has past issues and because of that he doesn’t let anyone get close to him. Now, that Teresa is in college and they go to school together, it’s harder for Jase to keep Teresa at arm’s length.

This book is super cute, it’s a no fuss, no muss kind of book that is perfect if you are ever in the mood for that. I really like the storyline.

Teresa

The Heroine isn’t anything special, but she isn’t annoying. I liked her, she’s cute and who doesn’t like a Heroine who has a crush on the Hero. She wants to be a dancer, but she struggles with her knee. Very … like I say it again, cute right?

Jase

Oh Jase, the guy with a lot of baggage and issues. Jase has a secret and it keeps him very guarded. You can see his struggles with his feelings with Teresa and it’s very interesting to read. There’s crazy tension and you just want them to work it out!

Overall

I really like the banter between the main characters and it’s pretty fast pace read. There’s no annoying parts or dragging scenes. You find out Jase’s past fairly quickly and it’s a good one too. If you are a fan of Jennifer’s works, like I am, you will not be disappointed.

Deity (Covenant, #3) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Deity (Covenant, #3)Deity by Jennifer L. Armentrout
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Stars

WOW … Deity is everyone’s favorite and after you finish it, you will know why.

I am a HUGE fan of the Covenant series. The first two books did not disappoint and it amazes me that Jennifer can churn these books out with something new and dynamic, each time.

I would describe book 1, half-blood, more of Aiden and Alex’s book, then book 2, Pure, more Seth and Alex’s book, and then Deity, half Aiden and Seth and Alex’s book. I wouldn’t call this series a love triangle because I do not read that, it’s more like forbidden love in a fantasy setting.

I LOVE IT

Alex has a lot to deal with, she’s turning eighteen soon, she’s trying to move away from Aiden and she’s figuring out her mixed feelings with Seth. That alone is a book of problems. The beginning was a bit slow, but towards the second half of the book, you will be glued to the pages. GLUED MY FRIEND.

This book is the one to not miss nor skip out on. I felt like Alex changed a lot and it was definitely a pivotal point of the story-line.

Oh and that cliffy. Be prepared, it’s gut-wrenching, but come on, it’s a Jennifer Armentrout book, are we surprised?

This series is a must!

Pure (Covenant, #2) by Jennifer L Armentrout

5 Pure Stars
Spoiler Free Review

I love Aiden, but I do love Seth too.  The series has been out for some time and everyone is team Aiden. Had I known Seth would have such a presence in this series, I doubt I would have picked up the series because I can’t stand love triangles, BUT this isn’t a love triangle book.

I wouldn’t describe Pure as Seth pursuing Alex, but his character just has more of an occurrence. I am not fully “sold” on Seth, but I do like getting to know him better.  He’s so different from Aiden, you can’t help but wonder what Seth is and can you truly trust him?

Half-blood was wonderful. I loved it and it was a SUPER hit for me, so I was kind of cautious going into book 2 because everyone knows book 2 of series are very hard to stomach, they are usually known as “filler” books in my opinion.

BUT PURE IS NO FILLER BOOK.

You get everything you loved in Half-blood and more. There’s action, drama, suspense and plenty of mild romance to get your juices going.  Aiden isn’t entirely absent, so don’t think it’s an all Seth book. You get the sexual tension you crave and more.  Just read it!

Trust In Me (Wait for You, #1.5) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

I loved Wait for You, it was just a sweet and semi tragic love-story, so when I heard there would be Cam’s POV, well I was ALL OVER THAT.

The thing I love about Jennifer’s books is that she writes heavily on dialogue, which I am a MAJOR fan of, so when it translates into an alternative POV book, you don’t get that much difference, except for the parts where Avery and Cam do not interact.

What worked for me is the Hero, I loved Cam in book 1 and I was eager to see how he felt and what he was thinking.  I enjoyed getting into Cam’s mind and feeling his affections towards Avery. I also enjoyed the part where he went home and we saw his interactions with his family.  I am also happy this is a 1.5 book and not a full book 2 book, to me that makes a difference.  Trust in Me, feels like it’s a little extra special book just for the fans and not a way for the author to make extra dough. This I like. Thank you Jennifer.

If you loved Wait for You and Cam, well, Trust in Me is the perfect little extra something.

Half-Blood (Covenant #1) - Jennifer L. Armentrout + Mini Interview + Book Signing Photos

6 FUCK ME HARD (OR JUST RUB UPON ME) AIDEN STARS

It’s not secret I am a Jennifer L. Armentrout (J.Lynn) fan.  Yes, I have a girl crush list (just like a book boyfriend list) and she is an author that is on there. So, with my mini me (that’s my reading buddy, I call her mini me, b/c she’s ten years younger than me and reminds me of me ten years ago) told me to read Half-Blood, I said, well what the heck.

Oh my god, where have I been and I can’t believe I didn’t pick up the Covenant series sooner! I love the Lux series, but book 1, Half-Blood, oh no comparison.

I fucking gobble this shit up and real good! (I know that didn’t make sense, but it was the only way I could convey my feelings)

Alex (Alexandria) is a Half-Blood and Aiden is a Pure (full-blood).   Alex ran away from the Covenant (a school) for three years and finally came back, b/c her mother died.  Aiden is in charge of training Alex to get her up to speed, so when school starts Alex isn’t so far behind.

Okay, that summary is just a TIP of what you will be reading.  First off, the whole half-blood, pure, daimon, Sentinel is all confusing to me, but eventually you get the hang of it and all that stuff is just story, what really did it was the writing style. Oh how I love Armentrout’s writing, how can you write a YA book with that much wonderful sexual tension? I do not know but she does it.

I love Alex, she’s strong, feisty and never really irrational. I want to be her and you do feel for her.  It’s sometimes hard for me to sympathize with young Heroines or Heroines in YA paranormal reads, but I completely was in tune with Alex.  So yes, I could imagine myself as a seventeen year old Half-Blood.  Oh Aiden, how much I love him. Sigh, swoon, major book boyfriend.  Half-Blood reminded me a lot like Divergent, the whole older Hero training the young Heroine thing just does it for me. It’s cute, it’s adorable and you will be glued reading the pages.

There’s tension from the students, there’s tension from external forces and there’s tension from the school, but it’s NEVER annoying. It’s just the right amount to get you going.  The majority of the story is Alex and Aiden, THANK YOU! Yes, there’s back story and side characters, but I love reads where it’s mainly about the Hero and Heroine.

BUT do not be fooled, this is no boring read and there’s plenty of twists and turns! I was like Oh my god until the last second and you will too.

If you aren’t a huge fan of YA paranormal reads, I just think you aren’t picking up the right books. I get you, the whole super natural stuff, is like huh? BUT believe me, if it’s written well, you will definitely keep these types of books on your shelf.  Try Half-Blood, you will be a fan!

ORIGIN (Lux, #4) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

6 SEXY.OH.MY.GOD.DAEMON-TAKE-MY-BODY. STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Series Order
Shadows (Lux, #0.5)
Obsidian (Lux, #1)
Onyx (Lux, #2)
Origin (Lux, #4)
Opposition (Lux, #5)

Let me just start this review out like this….

I LOVED ORIGIN. I LOVED DAEMON. I LOVED KATY. AND. I LOVE JENNIFER L. ARMENTROUT.

Sometimes when I like a book so much I get crushes on the author, it’s true. It’s because when they create such an epic story, I just can’t but help but love the person who wrote it. Oh come on, you know you do too.

Let me put that disclaimer out there - > I will only give away what’s in the blurb (except for the images and quotes)

Can I just say, Opal has probably one of the best cliffys! I do not like cliffys, BUT lately I have been warming up to them.   I think it’s because when I finish a book and there’s that cliffy, I just think to myself, damn, why do I feel these emotions? But then a tiny bit of me inside loves it.

Daemon is on a mission to save Katy.  I do love a damsel in distress story line. Oh I do.  Who doesn’t want a BIG ALPHA MALE to come save you?  I have to say, the major star of the book is Daemon. And OH.GOD. do I love the duel POV. THANK YOU!!!

… I saw Daemon in my head – that ever-present, infuriating smirk on his expressive face – and I missed him so badly a burning crawled up my throat.

One of the things I love most about Origin is that it just continues the story from Opal, meaning I love seeing Kat and Daemon’s relationship progress and grow. You can see how much has changed from Obsidian (Book 1) to Origin.  Origin is mostly about Katy and Daemon, but you see a lot of the supporting characters and also a new one, Archer, who is a big fat mystery.

What makes Origin so great is that there is no BS. There are no filler pages, filler scenes or filler words.  Everything that was written was necessary.  Also, it’s a love story between two epic and great characters. I love Katy. She’s a lot stronger in this one and you FEEL.FOR.HER! You really do and you just want to cheer and support her.  Of course, like I said it’s all about Daemon.

And I’m not going to let you do this by yourself You’re my – everything , Kat

Just imagine the perfect Hero, just image the guy you dream about, just image the kind of love that takes your breath away and Daemon is that - > TIMES TEN! Oh and the banter between Katy and Daemon was perfect. Yes, the story was serious, but I laughed at many parts. Katy and Daemon are adorable and cute.
His kisses really did have the power to change lives. Not that I’d admit that. His ego was ginormous as it was.

I’ll burn the world down to save her

I’d take out an army, burn down an entire city and throw the world into chaos if I had to in order to keep Kat out of that place.

There’s tons of stuff that goes on and you learn a lot.  There’s plenty of tension and obstacles to keep you interested and it’s never dull. Just when you think its calm, bam, you are slapped in the face again, but oh in a delicious way.   Yes, people will get hurt, yes there’s some steam, and yes there will be major twists and turns.

Origin is basically everything you can look for in an EPIC READ
Of course Origin will give you a glimpse of what Opposition, (Book 5) will be about and I can’t wait! There is a closed cliffy in Origin, meaning, yes there’s a cliffy, but you will be fine with it.

READ ORIGIN or START the SERIES!!!! IT’S A MUST!!! (Even if you don’t like paranormal reads, do it for Daemon alone, TRUST ME, you will be thanking me later for it)

You know, I haven’t told you this enough, and I should tell you every chance I get, but I love you. I know you do, even if you don’t say it all the time. I love you.

And in case you were wondering, the models on the cover are actually engaged to each other and their names are Pepe Toth and Sztella Tziotziosz. And Pepe is a professional soccer player. BAD ASS RIGHT?!

Giveaway + Book Review - Frigid by Jennifer L. Armentrout

5 COOZY-SNUGGLE-WINTERY STARS!!!!

I’ve seen the reviews and all of you people who didn’t absolutely love Frigid are CRAZY!

HOW COULD YOU NOT LOVE FRIGID? THE ONLY THING THAT COULD MAKE THIS READ BETTER… I WISH I READ THIS DURING CHRISTMAS.

Honestly, this was a fantastic, easy, light, no-fuss, no-muss, kind of read. It was PERFECT!

Sydney and Kyler are childhood best friends.  Every year they go skiing together, but this year, they get snow trapped! **GASP** and of course their friends couldn’t make it.  So for a few days Sydney and Kyler are stuck together.

Sydney was perfect- the actual embodiment of the perfect woman. She was practically pristine and fresh. She was untouchable. She was everything to me.

I understand there was no crazy drama, no pull-your-hair-out tension, but sometimes and I know I do, you need that just happy-make-me-smile read!

I loved every page.

I thought the whole Sydney and Kyler banter and relationship was just too freaking adorable.  Of course they were frustrating at times and you kind of wished they would just talk about their feelings, but that’s what makes this read so GOOD! Oh and the steam… IT.DID.NOT.DISAPPOINT!!!

I was Kyler’s best friend. And because of that, he would never love me the way I loved him
Any female with ovaries would be affected. Kyler oozed sex appeal, a dangerous mix of looks and intelligence wrapped in an air of unpredictability.

I love J.Lynn / Jennifer L. Armentrout and I said it once and I’ll say it again, SHE IS FUCKING AWESOME PEOPLE!

You are beautiful, Sydney. You know that? You’re so beautiful, and you don’t even know

Jennifer L. Armentrout can write some fucking awesome paranormal shit. I FUCKING LOVE HER!!! She’s a genius, she’s an insanely talented and smart woman. We should strive to be her. I secretly already do

I haven’t read a paranormal read in a LONG ASS TIME. I can’t even remember my last one, let’s just say I have been in a **COUGH** steamy NA contemporary phase, HOWEVER, there was too many rave reviews with Obsession and I had to see what the fuss was about.

So with that said, I waited for the read to go from $2.99 to $.99 and oh it went on sale, I clicked and read and damn.

Yeah, it’s kind of like that.

At 11% I was like, umm… Hunter? HELLO DAMN

At 45% I was like holy shit, fan.faint, fawn, so steamy and I LOVE IT!

At 78% I am like oh GOD, THIS IS SO FUCKING GOOD!!!

At 100% I am yelling at myself for not reading it sooner. WHY DID I WAIT A MONTH?

The kiss… I don’t know what it was about it, but it turned my insides to mush

There’s two things I loved…HUNTER and the STEAM. Does that make me shallow? Sorry, but if you ever wanted to read an alpha male and if you ever wanted a book boyfriend to rip your panties off, then what the fuck are you doing? Read Obsession NOW!

Umm… yeah I love you Hunter. Hell, I even loved Serena. All gushing aside, this was a top notch read. There was drama, action, excitement and plenty of sexual tension.
