I loved Twisted Perfection. I loved it so much, I purchased a paperback copy and so when Simple Perfection came out, I couldn’t wait to read it.  I think this would have been a five star read for me, if Abbi focused more on the Woods and Della dynamics, than the other Rosemary characters (which some readers love, so this is a personal thing for me).

Della will piss you off.  She will be irrational and slightly crazy. Again, I know there are readers who LOVE this, so there you have it.  The best part of this book was Woods. Oh god, my love for Woods. He’s SO ALPHA!  If you looked up Alpha in the dictionary, you will see his name (some readers may be turned off by this, so just so you know, the whole alpha thing is turned up a notch). I love alpha, sexy, I-Love-my-woman, woods. DAMN.

Sigh. SWOON. FAINT, I love Woods. BAD.

For me, it’s very tricky on keeping me engaged in the second book of any series. Where can the characters go?  The beginning picks up right where Twisted Perfection left off.  So, Woods is dealing with his family and there’s plenty of drama on that side to keep you interested. I liked reading the parts about Woods’ mother and ex-girlfriend.  Who doesn’t love a cat fight?

It wasn't the way life was supposed to be, but it was my life. And I'd had Woods in it. That made it all okay.

Then there’s Della and her issues. I understand the direction Abbi was going and you do feel bad for Della.  Do you agree with her? I am not sure, but it adds nice tension to the book.

Simple Perfection isn’t a light hearted read.  It’s emotional and dramatic.  If you are like me and LOVE Woods, then there’s no question, you need to read Simple Perfection.

Oh.My.Gah. Can you see how happy I am? Can you see my joy, feel my excitement? I needed this. Thank you!!!.

I like Abbi Glines, but I have yet to rate her books five stars until now. I’m a little bum because Abbi Glines will be in Austin, Texas next week and I will not be able to attend, but that’s just me digressing.

So, I don’t feel like writing a summary because I don’t think it’s necessary. I am sure the readers are Rush fans and so everyone is aware of Wood’s story.

Let me just say this…

I freaking LOVE LOVE LOVE, want to rub him against me, LOVE Woods!

I mean, 100% Swoon right?!

Twisted Perfection is EVERYTHING I look for in a book. Awesome cover check, Awesome Heroine check, No flash backs check, good tension check, Steam check, HOT.SEXY. Hero. I-want-to-F Triple check

The beginning was the perfect opener. I loved the BAM, hit in your face kind of opening. I just wanted to read more and not stop (I really didn’t).

I loved Della and I loved Woods. I wouldn’t change anything about them. I loved the chemistry, I loved the tension, the banter, the issues, everything. 

I thought Woods was strong, open, honest and affectionate. Let me stress to you how much I loved how honest Woods was. I mean, if I could describe a man owning-up, it would be him. Yes, he has issues, but I needed that. I needed my Hero to struggle a little.

You are mine. Do you hear me? You are mine, Della Sloane. I will take care of you. Nothing is taking you away from me. Nothing.

How could you not ache for Della? I am absolutely a sucker for the damsel-in-distress. I really liked her issues. I can’t explain to you how interesting it was for me. I just thought it was kind of out there that it worked for me. I thought Della a little broken, but you couldn’t help but love her.

You can’t be there for me when I need someone. It makes my heart hurt just a little more each time.

I loved the middle shift, it was exactly what I needed and it brought Della and Woods to a whole new level. I felt like I was on a roller coaster throughout the whole book and when I got to the CLIFF-HANGER ending, it felt like I was sucker punched in the face, BUT in a good way. I didn’t think it would end like that, but I should have known better, because that is what Glines is known for. Let’s just say I was okay with the cliffy and I can wait for book 2.

I am also happy that Perfection is a spin-off of the Rush series and not a continuation. I was not happy with Never Too Far even though I LOVED Fallen Too Far. Let’s just say I want perfection un-tainted.

Never Too Far (Too Far, #2)

I’m driving you because I’m a desperate man who will take whatever the hell he can get when it comes to you

I am highly disappointed with Never Too Far Where do I even begin? First off, I waited too long for the sequel. Never too Far just didn’t have the same tone and feel as book 1, Fallen too far.

Also, at times, I felt that nothing really happened in Never too Far.

Am I reading the same book as everyone else? I do not see a 5 star book, it actually deserved 2.5, but I bumped it higher because of book 1.

So, Blaire is pregnant and dealing with it. Rush is dealing with the lost of Blaire. There are external characters, like Nan, Grant , Cain, Woods, but other than that, there really isn’t a story line.

Let me sum up the book…

Blaire is pregnant and doesn’t know what to do

Rush misses Blaire

Cain wants to support and help Blaire

Nan keeps on bitching about Blaire

Blaire pushes Rush away

Rush wants to be with Blaire but can’t seem to not mess up

Blaire still pushes Rush away

…. And it goes on and on from there, like a vicious cycle that never ends.

I.COULD.NOT.STAND.BLAIRE

There I said it!!! Where did my fierce, awesome badass girl go? I LOVED her in Fallen too far. BUT this time, I just wanted to slap her!!! I’ll even say it, towards the end, I skimmed! It all seemed obvious and where did Cain go? He just fell off the book around the middle, was he even necessary?

Ug, such a disappointment.

Rush was okay. I liked his possessiveness, but all around, I just didn’t see the “Hero” I like to read. He was dick at 30%, then redeems himself at 50%, then becomes a dick again at 75%, then nice for a few pages, a dick again at 90% and then redeems himself. It’s just felt too unstable.

The only thing and I mean only thing I liked was Woods and THANK GOD, book 3, Twisted Perfection is his story, if not, I would have dropped Glines. I need consistent books and I am so FED UP WITH CLIFF-HANGERS. If you want to write a cliff-hanger book, make it long, make it worth my while, but when I get a short read with a cliff-hanger ending and a anticlimactic sequel? Well I can only be f&cked so far.

Also, was it me or did the ending seemed rush? Sure there’s another book in the works on Blaire and Rush (from what I read), but I just feel like everything should have been wrapped up in this one. I am not sure I want to open another can of worms. The story has been said, stretched and molded, let’s not overwork it.

I know I am ranting, maybe because I am angry I waited so long and maybe I high expectations.

With everything said, book 3 better be darn good.

I need to fan myself because Dank = HOTT. I am very surprised on how much I loved reading Predestined. I didn’t really give a review on book 1, Existence, I think it was too short for me to form an opinion and I am glad I waited because I can happily say I am happy for the series!

Predestined picks up about 1 month later and there isn’t a dry moment. Usually book 2 of supernatural series are always filler books to me, like when the guy leaves or there’s a stupid issue that seems so easy to get over and no one seems to know how to solve it, but Predestinedhad none of that. Predestined was jam pack with action, drama, mystery and crazy possessive boyfriend.

If you haven’t read book 1, Existence stop reading this review.
Dank and Pagan are officially together, however Leif has gone missing. All seems well for Pagan, until a soulless creature has claimed Pagan’s soul as his and of course Dank is having none of that.

I really liked Predestined, we get a better glimpse of Leif and all honestly I didn’t think Leif was all that bad. I think Leif is just misguided and a bit young, I am very interested in the in between book centered on Leif’s character, it would be nice to have his POV.

I LOVE Dank, I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again; I love crazy obsessive possessive boyfriends! Dank and Pagan are fairly level-headed characters, there wasn’t a moment where I was annoyed or didn’t agree with the decisions they were making. I am also glad there are Dank and Pagan’s POV’s.

I really liked the overall theme of Predestined, it was just a sweet love story with a few supernatural stuff thrown in to make it a little different, but in a very good way.

I recommend!

While it Lasts is the 3rd book in the SEA BREEZE series. This is Cage's story and one of my favorite characters. Cage got a DUI and his coach made him go to the country and work on a farm over the summer so Cage would "straighten out". Cage forms a relationship with the farmer's daughter, Eva, but if Eva's Dad ever finds out, Cage could lose everything.

There really wasn't anything special or out of the ordinary with While it Lats, however, I think it's better than Book 1 and 2. I like Cage, I wish more of his personality from book 2 was reflected in book 3, but not all was lost. Cage is still a hot-tempered, egotistical man-whore.

Eva is very sweet and I liked her character in the beginning, it was just so sad and tragic, you can't but help and feel sorry for her. Towards the middle-end I was getting kind of fed up with her though. The tension Abbi Glines created between Cage and Eva towards the end of the book was just kind of blah. I was thinking to myself, meh, give me something better than the obvious.

While it Lasts is a very easy short read. Although there's nothing grand about the characters or story line, the book is still sweet and pleasant, it's a good in-between-book.

I recommend.

Book Review - Because of Low (Sea Breeze, #3) by Abbi Glines

I wasn’t a fan of Breathe but after reading and enjoying Fallen Too Far I decided to revisit another Abbi Glines book. I wasn’t expecting to be overwhelmed, but I was overall satisfied with Because of Low

Because the books are so short, I kind of wanted Jax and Sadie’s story to be extended, but book 2 is Marcus’ story. Marcus moves in with Cage and Cage’s best friend is Low. Cage and Low have a very tight friendship and Marcus is very attracted to Low. Low and Marcus have many family issues, but Marcus and Low form a friendship regardless.

I LOVED Cage, he’s the type of character I like to read, he’s very protective and a little damaged, I mean, the guy drops everything for Low, how could you not love him? Sure Cage has issues, but all characters do, but this isn’t Cage’s story.

I was never a fan of Marcus. I didn’t like Marcus in book 1, “Breathe” and I don’t like him in book 2, “Because of Low”. I think Marcus was a bit emotional, a little weak and his “issues” are kind of minor. I liked Low a lot and I thought she was a bit too sweet, but nothing too extreme.

Because of Low is a simple, fast easy read and although it’s not a favorite of mine, I would recommend.

I’ll admit, when I read my first book by Abbi Glines, Breathe I was not a fan, in fact I basically decided to write her off as a writer, however I was recommended to read The Vincent Boys, which I also wasn’t a fan of, but not because of the writing, just the with the overall plot. I decided to give Fallen Too Far a go because of all the good reviews and, I’ll admit, I was very wrong with my first impression of Abbi Glines.

Fallen Too Far is about a girl named Blaire and after taking care of her dying sick Mom, Blaire goes to visit her father, so she has a place a stay. When Blaire shows up at her father’s house, she soon realizes that the house her father lives in doesn’t belong to her father, but her father’s stepson (Blaire’s step brother), who is wealthy and is a man-whore. Blaire convinces her stepbrother, Rush, to let her stay at his house for a month while Blaire works and saves money for an apartment.

I didn’t really pay too much attention to the summary, so when I started to read Fallen Too Far I was instantly pulled in. I love a damsel in distress storyline and by having poor Blaire show up at Rush’s house with just a Truck and $20 in her pocket put a smile on my face. I also love how harsh and rude Rush is because everyone loves a mean bad boy. The banter between Blaire and Rush is very good and the tension is high.

I love easy reads, but this book was just too short for me, I felt like Blaire and Rush’s relationship moved a little too fast, but other than that, I can’t really complain.
Of course there’s more twist and turns down the book and I loved every minute of it. I usually don’t like cliff-hanger endings, but this one was perfect for me.

Fallen Too Far is a juicy steamy read, I recommend (only if you are okay with a MAJOR cliff-hanger ending).

The Vincent Brothers (The Vincent Boys, #2) by Abbi Glines

I wasn’t a fan of book 1, The Vincent Boys because it had cheating, so when I realized book 2 was Sawyer’s story, I was kind of curious.

The Vincent Brothers is Sawyer’s story, he’s still trying to get over Ash. Ash’s cousin, Lana is spending the summer in town, in hopes of catching Sawyer’s eye. I loved Lana, I thought she was sweet and her story was sad, but interesting. I was never a fan of Sawyer and I thought he would change in book 2, but he didn’t really. He really did spend almost the whole book in trying to get over Ash, which was beyond annoying.

I think Lana really rounded the plot and if it wasn’t for her character I wouldn’t enjoy the book as much. She was a push over at times, yet she sort of stood her ground in the end, which I liked. I want to give this story a higher rating and I probably didn’t rate it so low because the actual writing was good, I just couldn’t cope with Sawyer’s character, he just isn’t ideal for me.

A nice easy read, I would recommend.

I am refraining from judging this book before I read book 2. I don't like books about infidelity. I think the only book I could read about cheating and was fine with it was "Something Blue", by Emily Griffin, but it was easier to accept that story line because the person being cheated on was so awful.

I am not sure I can relate to Ash's character, even though she kept on saying she wasn't a "good" person, I thought she was, considering she was haboring so much guilt. I felt like everything was just put in boxes, like box 1, perfect/good characters, box 2, not perfect/bad characters and towards the end the author was trying to get these characters out of their boxes, but it just seemed a little flat or a little too late, like when we started to see the "real" people.

I gave the book 3 stars because even though I wasn't a fan of the characters, I have to praise the author for not making them annoying. The thing about books with cheating, the person doing the cheating is always annoying, since that person has to pick who they want to be with. I felt like the author didn't push the lines too much and it was some what believable.

I'll read book 2, just not right now.
