Six of Hearts (Hearts, #1) by L.H. Cosway [REVIEW]

Step right up and meet Jay Fields: Illusionist. Mentalist. Trickster.

I think in triangles. You think in straight lines.
I show you a table and make you believe it’s a chair.
Smoke and mirrors, sleight of hand, misdirection. I trick and deceive.

But most of all, I put on a good show.

The world thinks I killed a man, but I didn't. Bear with me. It’s all a part of the plan.

Revenge is what I want. I want it for me and I want it for her.
I want it for all six of us.

Heart Recaptured (Hades Hangmen, #2) by Tillie Cole

Heart Recaptured (Hades Hangmen, #2)Heart Recaptured by Tillie Cole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 BEATUFUL STARS

If you haven’t read a Cole book, then STOP! Yes Stop what you are doing and pick up her book. It doesn’t matter which one, just do it, you will not be disappointed

I love this author and I’m a major fan. Love that I’m adding another one to my very extensive list.

I just finished Heart Recaptured and I have two things….

Book Hangover

And GOOSEBUMPS!

It was that good

Heart Recaptured is book 2 in the series and its new characters. It’s your choice to read out of order, but I would suggest you not to.

This is Lilah and Ky’s story and oh boy, be ready to put on your big girl panties, because you will need them.

Lilah is picked up from the religious cult. She believes her beauty is sinful and causes men to do sinful things. In order to atone for her beauty she must submit mentally and physically to the religious elders. You have to understand that she has been brained washed from childhood to believe these things. It’s engrained into her mind.

She will frustrate you and you will want to slap her, BUT I’ve read a few religious nonfiction books and I totally get it. I totally get Lilah and I feel for the girl (of course her story is a bit extreme, but you know what I mean).

Ky is the VP of the MC and he’s order to keep an eye on Lilah and make sure she gets adjusted to the outside world. Ky’s reaction to Lilah is just off the charts funny, kind of sweet and it will make you want to gobble up the pages. He, of course, thinks Lilah is beautiful and he wants her, but he isn’t going to do anything because she’s too good for him.

I love Ky and I love his relationship with Lilah. Cole knows how to write a hardcore, nasty, gritty MC book. I felt like I was part of the characters and I was wrapped into the world. I loved how she added bits of other charcters too, so I get a glimpse of future books and let me tell you … I can’t wait for Flame’s book. I’m already half in love with him, but I’m digressing.

Ky tries to stay away from Lilah, but now he must show her around and expose her to different things. I love Lilah’s reaction. The poor girl doesn’t even know what rape is?! So sad. Oh and when she starts talking about her past, you will cry, like bloody tears, it breaks your heart.

So much happens. There’s so many shifts throughout the read, your head will spin, but in a good way. The cult has become out of control and sometimes I had to reread a few parts because it’s just that CRAZY. I’ve never read anything that crazy and I read over 300 books a year.

Yeah, crazy.

I’m a fan of the author, the series, this story, EVERYTHING.

Made (Forever, #0.4) by J.M. Darhower

Made (Forever, #0.4)Made by J.M. Darhower
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 The Kevlar Killer Stars

Stop what you are doing and read Made. If you are a Sempre fan, if you are a Corrado fan, heck, if you like to read, then MADE is the perfect book for you

Sempre has been an up and down roller coast for me. I gave Sempre Redemption, two stars. I know! **Hides in the corner** BUT I did love Sempre. So I had low expectations for Made. I will be honest, I wasn’t a huge Corrado fan. I know we got a lot of him in Sempre Redemption, but let’s face it, I’m a Vincent lover (still am).

BUT my heart has room for one more man and that man belongs to Corrado.

Corrado is my book husband

If I had to be tied down to any mobster, it would be with Corrado Moretti. If he wanted babies, I would want babies with Corrado Moretti. I would spend the rest of my life with Corrado Moretti.

OKAY, enough, I will stop.

Made is simply about Corrado, from start to finish. Made is broken in various books (stages in his life), from childhood to present (where it leaves off in Sempre Redemption and a little after that).

It was just PERFECT.

The beginning is a bit slow because it was about Corrado’s childhood, but I had to read it. It gave a glimpse of why Corrado is who is and it will gut you! His mom is no joke crazy and it wasn’t an easy read.

My favorite part is when Corrado meets Celia and oh my goodness, I gobbled up those pages. I couldn’t get enough of it. Seeing Corrado and Celia interact is just TOO CUTE!!!!

I didn’t think I would get a full length novel, I thought this was a novella, but nope, I got the whole package and more. Made far exceeded my expectations. I was emotional, a blubbery mess and I smiled, it was just all around a joyful, delightful, intense and great read.

If you love Sempre, YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED WITH MADE

Four Seconds to Lose (Ten Tiny Breaths, #3) - K.A. Tucker

6 Emotionally- Epic-Roller-Coaster-Dramatic-Stars

What can happen in four seconds?

Words cannot convey how much I love this book.  I have to write a little intro, so if you are bored by lengthy reviews, I would advise you skip this part.  Four Seconds to Lose (FSTL) was EXACTLY want I needed and wanted. It was emotionally driven and well written.  Everything worked for me, from the character development, to the depth of detail, to the story line, to the issues, to the dialogue flow, EVERYTHING!

I need to clear the air here, first off, I hate hyping up a book and I know I am doing that now, so let me just explain to you why I think this book doesn’t work for some people.  FSTL, is not like Ten Tiny Breaths  or One Tiny Lie (both reads I LOVED).  Ten Tiny Breaths was a bit dark, but it had (like FSTL) a lot of emotions and heart.  One Tiny Lie was a bit steamier, with a lot of emotions, but it was just sexier.  FSTL is not a steamy read, but it for sure had nice sexual tension. FSTL was just gritty, dirty and raw, things I CRAVE in a dramatic read.

[Summary]

Charlie doesn’t have the most traditional upbringing.  Her dad is very demanding (mixed up in illegal activities) and while she is away trying to save money to maybe break free from her father, she decides to strip to bring in lots of cash.  Cain owns a strip club, he’s the perfect boss. He doesn’t sleep with his employees. He looks out for his workers and treats everyone fairly.  Cain has his own personal demons to work on, but once Charlie steps inside his club, somehow his demons resurface and it’s hard for him to stay away from the girl that looks exactly like the girl who haunts his past.

[My review]

The summary isn’t really the full story, it’s just the tip. I’m not the type to rehash the entire blurb, you can read that on your own. I also don’t like to say everything because I hate spoilers.  Finally I don’t like long reviews, BUT I do write them for the books I really love, so you have been warned, this will be a long review, but seriously, it’s worth it.

[Charlie]

Charlie is a phenomenal character.  All the characters are, but I’m going to focus on the Heroine. She’s strong, sassy and really smart.  I couldn’t believe she was 18, I felt like I was reading a girl in her mid-twenties (which is a good thing).  I loved how Tucker developed Charlie’s character. Charlie’s past was really interesting to me and I was enjoying her childhood memories (rare I know).  She had enough issues and problems to really warrant her actions and feelings. Everything she questioned, so did I.  She struggled throughout the whole book, but it was never once annoying, if anything it was completely endearing.

[Cain]

Oh Cain. I’m a HUGE duel POV fan, HUGE.  I also love it when the author can clearly write from two POV’s and Tucker does. Of course Cain has issues and we get a good chunk of why he is the way he is at the beginning and I loved knowing that. I felt Cain’s pain and it didn’t turn me off at all. I understood his struggles and his reasoning. I just wanted to reach through my book and tell him, god you are sexy and it’s okay baby, let’s make love. Seriously, he’s one tortured, yet beautiful, yet fuckable character.

[Overall]

The best part of the book is basically reading Cain and Charlie interactions with each other and all in the midst of struggling through past issues, external issues and bad people. I thrive on couple’s working-against-the-world kind of read.  FSTL is not a short book, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Every paragraph and word was needed. I loved it.

I just wanted to take this moment to say, I REALLY enjoy reading authors shifting their books.  As much as I loved Ten Tiny Breaths and One Tiny Lie, Four Seconds to Lose was the perfect direction for Tucker to take.  To me, she took a huge risk, because it was nothing like the previous two yet it just shows her talent.  TO ME that is amazing. These are the books I crave, thrive and read for.

Here are some questions you may have…

Can I read the books out of order? You can kind of, since each book references different characters, but I wouldn’t advise it. There are a few references from the previous books and I wouldn’t want anything to be spoiled.

Is there a cliffy? NO

Is there a love triangle or cheating? No and No

Is there book 4? Yes, it will be Ben’s book

**Quotes were taken prior to publication and is subject to change**

I also wanted to thank Tucker's publicist, Kelly for providing me an ARC copy. I told her I was sad I didn't get on the list, and this kind woman dropped this beautiful book in my hands. I am forever grateful for that and I love her and Ink Slinger to bits.

Consequences (Consequences #1) by Aleatha Romig

5 Stars

I’m going to put this out there right now, my review will not do FULL justice, but I will try my best.

One work to describe CONSEQUENCES is F&CK!!!!

Yes, I used “F&CK” to describe this desirously yummy book.

I cannot express how crazy, exciting, heart-thrilling, pull-you-hair-out and slap-you-in-the-face kind of story CONSEQUENCES is.

-HUGE DISCLAIMER LISTED -

- CONSEQUENCES is NOT for everyone

- CONSEQUENCES is NO hearts and flowers kind of book

- CONSEQUENCES has a sadistic HERO

- CONSEQUENCES has a cliff-hanger ending

In full disclosure, I was aware of all the above and I am not sure if I would have the same reaction if I didn’t. I would describe myself as someone who is a huge fan of happy-go-lucky stories, BUT every once in awhile, I LOVE to read an epic book.

CONSEQUENCES is an EPIC BOOK

I just can’t believe I said that, but it’s 100% true, so let’s just jump in with a brief summary because that’s all that is necessary.

[Summary]

Claire has over $200K in debt because of school and getting laid off. Anthony (Tony) is rich and offers a Claire a deal, if she is willing to do anything he says then he would pay off her debt. Claire drunkly agrees and doesn’t take the deal seriously. Tony kidnaps Claire stating he had a deal with Claire and therefore she must agree to whatever Tony says and his conditions.

So, my summary is just a tip of the iceberg because there is so much more, but it’s enough. I wouldn’t call CONSEQUENCES a typical kidnap / stockholm syndrome book, it’s more of a psychological mind-f&ck book.

The story progresses and shifts SO MANY TIMES, I just never knew where I was going, I didn’t know how Tony was going to act and I didn’t know how Claire was going to react, it was just delicious to read!

At 27% I couldn’t stop cringing and smiling every time I read “Good Evening Claire” The tension was too much

At 50% I was like “OMG WHAT” I needed a mini-break

At 79% I was a ball of roller coaster of emotions and needed Prozac to calm the F down

I took a 7 day break! I only had 30% left and I couldn’t stomach any more tension, finally…

At 90% I was just grabbing fist full of hair and glued to my tablet, NOTHING was going to stop me from finishing

At 99% I was jumping for joy and then collapsing on the couch b/c I was exhausted

Reading CONSEQUENCES is like running a marathon, you know you are in for a rough ride and it’s nice and slow in the beginning, then you start getting tired and by the end you are wiped out and exhausted, but glad you did it and can’t wait to do it all over again.

I didn’t read the reviews, but from what I skim, no one was a fan of Tony and let me just say this.

[Tony]

I LOVED TONY No, I didn’t love him because I thought he was the wonderful Hero I usually read. I loved Tony because his character was so complex, so damaged, so sadistic, so crazy, he was a treat to read. Every time Tony did something to Claire I kept on asking myself WHY?! I wanted to know the reason behind it.

Not every action is justified, but you do get your answer and it may not be what you were looking for, but it’s there, it’s something, I call it a cookie crumb of the truth.

[Claire]

I found more fault with Claire because I couldn’t understand her reasoning. I understand brain washing, I understand love, but I couldn’t understand on-going abusive on the receiving end. I don’t know why I find more fault on the Heroine than the Hero, but I just do, HOWEVER, I overall liked her. I think my issues with Claire were warranted. In a way Claire is her own ball of crazy.

[The relationship]

The relationship was controlling, one-sided and mind boggling. Consequences is long, but every word, every paragraph is a build up to something more. And as you read, you want that happy-ending or a happy turning point. There are moments you think there is some redeeming quality in Tony because you get a glimpse of his venerability, BUT NO, he’s a sadistic a$$hole and it makes you want to scream, but continue to read because you are just searching for that light.

I love Consequences for different reasons why I typically love a book. This is not a happy-go-lucky book and in all honesty, you can’t read in one sitting, sure there are huge chunks you need to read and want to read, and I strongly urge breaks to regroup, but I will honestly say, the ending brought my rating from 4 stars to 5.

The last 10% is the PERFECT climactic-ending I crave and search for in every read

I usually don’t like cliff-hanger endings, but this one was just great in my opinion and maybe I can say this because Truth is out.

This book is not for the faint of heart, it’s a book of mind-games and you will be questioning throughout the story, but it is also written beautifully, the characters are strongly developed and each action has a point and leads to something better, which leads to an overall makings of a fantastic read.

I recommend but with caution. Happy reading!

Book Signing Photos + Book Review [Falling Into Us (Falling, #2)] by Jasinda Wilder

I’m thoroughly addicted to you, Becca. If I don’t get a regular fix of your body, I might go into withdrawal

5 SHOOTING STARS

Damn you Jasinda Wilder, damn your brilliant writing, damn your fantastic stories, damn your enduring and lovable characters. I want to hate you because of all the emotions you make me feel, but I can’t because I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE you!

Okay, enough of me being a fan girl. BUT let me just say this. I loved Wounded, I loved Falling into You and damn it… I freaking loved Falling Into Us. I really don’t know how Wilder does it? Does she have like this magic fairy that tells her what perfect writing is? If so, please do not stop whatever you are doing Jasinda because you have a number one fan FOR LIFE!

[Disclaimer]

Yes, this is book 2 of the Falling series and you do not have to read book 1, Falling into You to understand Falling Into Us. There is some overlapping (since this is a parallel story), so it’s up to you on which read you pick up first. My advice, if you can’t handle a deep emotional book, then start with Falling into Us first.

[Summary]

Becca is Nell’s best friend (Nell is the Heroine in Falling into You) and Becca is your typical goodie girl. Becca obeys and respects her parents, she doesn’t have a social life and her number one focus is school. Jason is super star athlete and dreamy drool worthy male. After years of crushing on Nell, Jason finally asks Nell out on a date. Nell backs out last minute and suggests Jason ask Becca instead because Nell knows Becca has a major crush on him. Jason and Becca are complete opposites, but despite 100% different backgrounds and circumstances keeping them apart, attraction and an relationship is forged.

[Becca]

Becca.is.my.FAVORITE heroine YES! I said it. I basically have a girl crush on her, I basically want to be her best friend, I basically want to be her, oh wait… I was her. Okay, I’m Asian American, and yep, I had the 10PM curfew, I wasn’t allowed to date in high school, I wasn’t allowed to have a job and school was my number one focus. Did I go a little boy crazy because my parents were strict? Yes, I did and with that said. I so get Becca and I freaking love her!

 [Jason]

Oh LORD, Jason was awesome, he was perfect. I’m not really into jocks and the whole football thing does nothing for me, but sheesh, you can’t but help but break for Jason or take your clothes off, so he can jump you. Right off, we know Jason’s story and I really got into that. I felt like with each chapter, I got a little bit more of Jason and I just fell in love with him more and more. Jason has a lot of pressure to maintain his number one super star athlete status. His main goal is to get a full scholarship and eventfully get picked up to
play pro.

Oh, no. I’m happily addicted. I don’t have many vices, you know. I don’t really drink, don’t smoke, I’m not into partying or anything like that. But you? I’m very much into you. I wouldn’t give you up for anything.

[My FAN.GIRL.REVIEW]

I was a little cautious stepping into this read because of Falling into You. I really didn’t know what to expect and like always, I was just blown away and shocked.

My thoughts and feelings during this read…

At 7%, I’m girl crushing hard on Becca

At 39% I have a HUGE grin on my face and can’t stop smiling

At 54% I am blown away with the story line

At 72% I am bawling ugly fat tears (okay it’s not that bad, but it’s pretty emotional)

At 100% I just had a book orgasm

All things aside, the first half is really light-hearted and really cute.  Having this read parallel to Falling Into You isn’t a big deal, Falling into Us truly reads as a standalone novel. There is some Nell and Becca interaction, but the main story is Becca and Jason.

It was like falling over the edge; once you lost your balance and began the tumble, you couldn’t stop your descent

The second half the story shifts and it gets a little bit more emotional, but like I said, I loved it and it was perfect. I was just enthralled into the Jason and Becca dynamics. I wanted to be part of their lives and just ride along with their journey. You feel for them as individuals and you feel for them as a couple. Oh and the steam is top-notch girlfriends!

When you finish reading Falling Into Us you basically want to roll over and have a cigarette, it’s just that good people!

Rating - 5 ++++ STARS!!!

I happen to get the chance to visit Jasinda when she was in Dallas and not only she is an awesome writer, she’s just one f&cking awesome person. Did this sway my review? No, not one bit. I am as always 100% honest in all of my reviews.

[Book Signing Photos]

Jasinda and me (aka her #1 Fan)

I told Jasinda I was trying to have a baby and she said she was very lucky, so she was giving me positive vibes.

Giveaway + J.A. Redmerski Guest Post + Book Review - [Killing Sarai]

[BLURB]

Sarai was only fourteen when her mother uprooted her to live in Mexico with a notorious drug lord. Over time she forgot what it was like to live a normal life, but she never let go of her hope to escape the compound where she has been held for the past nine years.

Victor is a cold-blooded assassin who, like Sarai, has known only death and violence since he was a young boy. When Victor arrives at the compound to collect details and payment for a hit, Sarai sees him as her only opportunity for escape. But things don’t go as planned and instead of finding transport back to Tucson, she finds herself free from one dangerous man and caught in the clutches of another.

While on the run, Victor strays from his primal nature as he succumbs to his conscience and resolves to help Sarai. As they grow closer, he finds himself willing to risk everything to keep her alive; even his relationship with his devoted brother and liaison, Niklas, who now like everyone else wants Sarai dead.

As Victor and Sarai slowly build a trust, the differences between them seem to lessen, and an unlikely attraction intensifies. But Victor’s brutal skills and experience may not be enough in the end to save her, as the power she unknowingly holds over him may ultimately be what gets her killed.
This is their story…

[MY REVIEW]

6 Stars, no 15 Million STARS!!!

The very first thing I need to say is that I absolutely, with my whole heart and every fiber in my body LOVED LOVED … did I say LOVE? YES! LOVED Killing Sarai!!!

Yup, Killing Sarai is up there with Hopeless, Beautiful Disaster, Real and Tangled.  I don’t have that many spots on my top favorites, but Killing Sarai landed a spot.  Honestly, I loved The Edge of Never and yes I had expectations from J.A. Redmerski, but I had no idea my expectations were going to be met by tenfold!

[Cliff-notes  version of my review]
I’m going to do a lot gushing, so, if you want something short and sweet, here it is…

Here is my version of Victor

Here is my version of Sarai

And there is my short version of review.  I went into Killing Sarai without knowing anything and if you are like me, just do it BUT first, scroll down to the giveaway and enter your chance to win a copy.  However if you need a review, then proceed.

[Summary]
Sarai was taken to Mexico when she was 14 years old.  Her mom left her with a drug lord, Javier.  Sarai is Javier’s favorite.  Sarai is now 23 and over hears an American, Victor, the first time in 9 years she lands a perfect opporunity. She takes quick action and sneaks out of her compound also known as her prison and hides in the American’s car. Victor is a hitman, he’s highly professional and doesn’t let his emotions comprise his situation ever.  Javier hired Victor to take out a hit, but on his way to his target, he soon finds his stowaway and doesn’t know what to do with her.

[Full Review]
…while peering into my eyes, though beyond them. I wonder what he’s looking for in their depths. Whatever it is, I hope he never finds it so that we can stay like this forever.

I absolutely loved Sarai and Victor.  She was the perfect Heroine and Victor was the perfect Hero, also known as the future father of my child and a book boyfriend.  You.feel.for.Sarai. Her innocence was taken from her and all she has ever known was to do what she had to do to survive yet she’s human and has inner conflicts.  I understood Sarai completely.  I felt like I was her, I felt like I was asking the same questions and I just wanted to help her!

There is a stark difference between fear and uncertainty, Sarai. You fear nothing but are uncertain of everything.

Then, there’s cold, calculating Victor who is just 100% lickable and edible.  I don’t know how to describe him.  There’s just something so sexy about a calm, confident, yet deadly man.

I am attracted to him. I do have a strange, unfamiliar feelings for him. And I hate it!

Let me just say, this read isn’t steamy, but oh you could cut the sexual tension with a knife and I love it!  In the beginning Sarai is just trying to find her way back to America and Victor is well to me a huge blank.  We don’t really understand what goes on until later and it’s just a perfect dance of giving me what I need instead of what I want.  I like this and I love the tension.

I feel like a toy and Victor knows every button on me which to push, to touch, in order to make me do whatever he wants, feel whatever he wants me to feel.  And I don’t mind.

My emotions throughout the read…

At 1% I’m like oh damn… from page one I was hooked

At 12% I felt like I was going to read something epic

At 32% my mind is blown away

At 74% I am just glued to my tablet and I don’t want the read to end

At 82% I have no f@cking clue to what’s going on, but I love it

At 100%.... I just had a book orgasm

What made me love Killing Sarai so much was the natural progression of Sarai and Victor’s relationship from beginning to end .  I can’t tell you enough how I love character build-up and relationships forming from trust, understanding and sometimes self-sacrifice, instead of just pure lust.  You will not know what happens from start to finish and it was perfect.

I don’t really want to recap the plot too much. I feel you should go into this read with little in mind.  Just know while reading it, there will be a lot of tension, dramatic situations, shooting, chasing, dying and just mind f&cks throughout the way.

Oh and there is a cliff-hanger, kind of.  I mean the ending opens to book 2, Reviving Izabel, but I was okay with it.  It's an open cliff-hanger, but you are left very satisfied.  I know, I hate cliffys too, but this one isn't bad. I promise!

I am grateful… for everything you’ve done for me. I guess in the end none of it will really matter, not saving my life or sparing it. But I’ll always be grateful to you.

RATING
6++++++ Stars!

GOODREADS

[GUEST POST]

J.A. REDMERSKI’S FAVORITE QUOTES IN KILLING SARAI (in no particular order)

1. “I am discipline. Sarai is rage. I am aware of my choices at all times. Sarai’s choices are more aware of her, lying in wait to decide for her based on the severity of her mood with no intention in leaving her any conscious control over it.” – Victor Faust in Killing Sarai
I chose this quote because it is when Victor finally realizes the severity of the damage that living in the compound for nine years has done to Sarai. It’s a moment in the novel when that line between them ultimately fades, revealing just how much alike they really are.

2. “…if she presses me further with those soft lips and sad, vulnerable eyes I’ll succumb to the moment and either fuck her or kill her.” – Victor Faust in Killing Sarai
I think this quote was chosen for obvious reasons!

3. “Like me, the nightmares of his experiences have long since vanished, leaving only a morbid sense of normality to which nightmares no longer deem fit to visit.” – Sarai Cohen in Killing Sarai
This quote is meaningful in the way that it’s when Sarai, like I explained above in Victor’s quote, sees how much alike they are.

4. “You are wealthy, though no one needs to know where your money comes from, only that you have enough of it to wipe your ass with one hundred dollar bills every time you take a shit.” – Victor Faust in Killing Sarai
I love this quote because it shows a ‘sort of’ lighter side to Victor. This is from a scene where Victor is gearing Sarai up for taking on the role of a ‘rich brat’ as they go on a mission together.

5. “I don’t think that this thing between us is love, or even lust. It’s something else, something powerful and unmistakable that neither of us have been able to ignore. But it doesn’t have a face.” – Sarai Cohen in Killing Sarai
This quote is the moment when Sarai questions their feelings for one another and it’s meaningful because neither of them have ever been in love before. They don’t know what it feels like so they may never be sure….

6. “We sit in stillness, both looking out ahead, both married to our thoughts. I wonder if hers are about me. I can’t help but for mine to be about her.” – Victor Faust in Killing Sarai

I like this quote because through all of Victor’s brooding, mysterious nature, I think it really shows that deep down he is so much more than what he perceives himself to be. And it also reveals his growing feelings for Sarai.

Let’s get the nitty gritty out of the way for all of those who were disappointed, I just don’t understand that. I didn’t know what I was expecting in Entwined with you, I mean, we just found out … (if you haven’t read the first two, stop reading this now) Gideon killed Nathan, I mean, sheesh…

You own me, Eva. Wherever I am, whatever I’m doing, I belong to you.

Uh... No …

YOU.OWN.ME.GIDEON… there I said it!

Yes, Entwined with you was not dramatic AND IT WAS F&CKING PERFECT TO ME! Yes, I said it! I am all about drama, but I needed a break from all the crazy sh!t from Reflected in you and I am 100%, over-the-moon, capital S! SATISFIED!

I was in love with a flesh-and-blood man, one who made mistakes but learned from them, a man who was trying hard to better himself for me, a man who wanted us to work as desperately as I did.

And yes I agree. I really liked Gideon in this one. He just seemed a little more crazy and a little more all around… dominate, male, alpha, cave-man like… do I need to say more?

WHO DOESN’T WANT THAT?!

The only way for a woman to get my attention is to be you

And yes, there are a few things that happened which was kind of like WTF? But I kind of liked it because it was shocking, different and it really rounded out the whole Eva and Gideon dynamic (we all know what part I am talking about)

My one and only and SUPER TINY compliant is that I felt the ending and when I am referencing "ending", I am talking about the last few pages, it all seemed a little anti-climactic and no, I didn’t want a cliff-hanger. I mean, I got exactly what I wanted, an opening to book 4, BUT I just expected something else.

HOWEVER… I LOVED Entwined with you. It was different from Reflected in You, but still passionate, engaging, steamy and just all around perfect.

I F&CKING LOVED IT!

I leave with one last imagine…

Me Before you by Jojo Moyes

5 Stars!!!

I laughed… I cried… I’m in an emotional state Me Before You was one of the most moving, soul-searching, epic reads… my hands are still shaking

I am going to tell you my version of the summary because I feel like more should be explained. I was fully aware of what Me Before You was about and I believe in order to appreciate this beautiful tale you have to know what you are getting yourself into.

[My VERSION summary/blurb]

Lou is twenty-seven years old and still lives at home. She has a very safe and normal life. Will was on top of the world, very handsome, successful and with a beautiful girlfriend, until one day he has an accident and it took away everything. Will becomes quadriplegic and has no movement in his legs or arms except for some feeling in his fingers. Will’s mother has been taking care of Will for two years, but decides to go back to work and now needs a care taker for Will. Lou recently got laid off from her job working at a cafĂ© and with limited skills Lou regretfully takes the job as Will’s care taker.

HUGE Disclaimer

Yes this is a love story, but Me Before You is NOT your typical love story. I don’t want to give everything away, believe me, there’s plenty of twist and turns and I had a few jaw dropping moments, but don’t expect a sweet story with hearts and flowers, there’s none of that. It’s simply a story of two people of not liking each other at first (for different reasons) to forming a deep bond.

[REVIEW]

I have a lot of books on my tablet and I have been itching to read a story that will just get me stewing, you know that kind of story that just leaves you speechless, a story that you think about days afterwards and makes you really question things…. yeah Me Before you delivers… in ten-folds.

When I first read the full blurb and I knew what the story was about, I was very hesitant, even though I have much admiration for intense slightly morose kind of reads, if it’s not done properly it can leave you feeling like crap, however, the glowing reviews speak for themselves and I had to see what the fuss was about.

Lou

I LOVE LOU, I.FELT.FOR.LOU, I wanted to jump into the book, wrap my arms around her and just give Lou a hug Could Moyes created a more PERFECT Heroine, and yes she was Perfect. Me Before You was told in Lou’s POV and there are a few chapters here and there when you read another character’s POV, which usually would annoy me, but it didn’t and it was much needed. It was such a delight watching Lou change and grow from the character she was from the first to the very last page.

I would rather be with you- even the you that you seem to think is diminished - than with everyone else in the world

Will

Oh, words can’t describe my feelings toward Will. I felt every emotion of the rainbow towards Will, I was angry with him, I pity him, felt elated for him, laughed at him and very briefly loved him in my own way Will’s character was such a strong, yet beautifully damaged soul. You question what you would do or feel if you were in his situation. To sum it all up, I have a love/hate relationship with Will, but ultimately I understood him.

Overall

From page one I was hit with a BAM! And from there it just leads to something so wonderful, so witty and almost charming at some points. I love the writing style, the flow and it’s a long book, but every word was needed.

The one thing I love in novels and epic reads are slow developing relationships. I can’t tell you how much I look forward to being a part of the story instead witnessing it. I was there with Lou, I was there watching Will, I was simply a part of the story.

I am not sure Me Before You is for everyone and it’s hard for me to explain why. Like I said before this isn’t a typical romance book, but there is love, as much love two people can managed under a dire situation.

If you want an epic read, a read that will leave you with shivers, then you must read Me Before you, but just understand it’s not your typical book and there will be many great moments and many sad ones, but it’s real and RAW and sometimes (like this one) those are the perfect books to be CONSUMED by.

I recommend!!!

Sempre (Forever, #1) by J.M. Darhower

5 Stars

WHAT A FREAKING G.R.E.A.T READ!!! ….

There’s a movie deal and a sequel in the works, OMG, PLEASE …. YES!!!

I <3 Sempre

I <3 Carmine

I <3 Haven

I <3 Vincent

I absolutely love finishing a good read, I feel like I am on such a high. I want to do diligence and convey all of my emotions properly, so let me take a *breath* and here it goes…

[SUMMARY/BLURB]

The blurb is fantastic and you don’t need to know anything else, but I will paraphrase. Haven is a second generation slave and is purchased by the wealthy Dr. Vincent DeMarco. Carmine is the son of Dr. Vincent DeMarco. Carmine is sort of the “prince” of the mafia. Although Haven and Carmine are from two completely different worlds, they use past pains and experience to help each other …. heal.

My summary doesn’t do justice, I mean, you read it and you’re probably thinking meh? BUT do not be fool…. it’s all in the writing.

[REVIEW]

I’m going to use this word a lot, so be prepared to see it sprinkle throughout, I LOVE Darhower’s writing style. The writing is 100%, completely, absolutely how I LOVE to read. Sempre is character and dialogue driven. Some people may equate “character-driven” with slow writing, but it is not, I PROMISE you.

530 pages is a long book and I had my doubts prior to reading and although I love a long book, it always worries me reading something that has so much hype, but you will not want Sempre to end. 30% into the book, so much has happened, I questioned if there was enough story to go on and there was. There was just so much to uncover, when I didn’t think there was and just bam, I’m hit with another reveal.

[Dr. Vincent DeMarco]

I usually start my reviews with an opinion on the heroine, but I have to say, my heart goes out to Dr. Vincent DeMarco. I know the story is about Carmine and Haven, but I was completely involved with Dr. DeMarco’s story. He’s the complete alpha male, who is loyal, lovable, completely whole-heartily passionate and major swoon-worthy in my opinion.. Dr. DeMarco is a complex character and just when you think he’s figured out, he kind of surprises you.

On to the Heroine and Hero…

[Haven]

Oh sweet, lovable, timid, shy, slave-girl, Haven. Let me just explain, this isn’t a BDSM or sexual story, but it’s 100% die-for-each-other romance. There are some mild scenes, but that’s about it and it’s perfect really. Haven is a great character, at first we see this sad, scared, small “child” and slowly as the layers peel off, we really get to know Haven’s inner struggles especially with past issues and her current situation. YOU.FEEL.FOR.HER.

[Carmine]

Then there’s Carmine, what can I say, I LOVE bad-boys who are well let’s just say it, act like a$$holes. Carmine is melt-your-panties worthy. Oh the Italian terms of endearments he uses and Italian poetry he rephrases, anything Italian coming from his mouth was making me combust. Carmine is a complex character with deep rooted issues and not all is apparent at first and of course he gets into trouble, but as Haven and Carmine interact with each other, a lot more is revealed.

[Overall Opinion]
I love dialogue-driven books, but what I love most is when authors create unique voices for each character and Darhower did that 10-folds. There’s no question who I was reading because each character had his or her own unique voice.

Let me talk about the title reference (something I ALWAYS look for in a book), I don’t speak any Italian, so at the 50% mark and the title is finally referenced, I think almost fell off my couch, because I was so ecstatic when I found out how Darhower references “Sempre”. You will not be disappointed.

About 70% in, there’s a lot of drama, action, deception and pull-your-hair-out, I’m stressing, need-to-calm-the-F-down moments. It was the perfect shift that was needed in the story.

Sempre is a sweet read and has mild tension in the first half, but overall, there’s plenty of OMG, did-that-just-happened-situations. It is also not your cookie cutter book, but because of that, it makes it more emotional, real and RAW.

I CAN.NOT.STRESS how much I LOVED Sempre and completely utterly recommend!

The Bronze Horseman (The Bronze Horseman, #1) by Paullina Simons

4 Stars

”…I’ll warn you right now that everything you’ve seen will increase a hundredfold now that you’re my wife.”

“Everything”

“Yes. Protectiveness. Possessiveness. Jealousy. All of it. A hundredfold…”

I don’t even know how to start this review. I will first write a general review, then I will have to hide the rest so I don’t spoil it because there are certain things I want to talk about.

One word to describe THE BRONZE HORSEMAN is …. WOW. I can’t even describe what I just read. More words to describe ….
EMOTIONAL…INTENSE….GUT WRENCHING…CLIMATIC…EYE-POPPING

I.Could.Not.Stop.Reading, do you understand what I am saying?

[Summary]

Tatiana is 17 years old and Alexander is a 23 year old army soldier. Right before the brink of WWII, Tatiana and Alexander meet at the bus station. However, Tatiana didn’t meet Alexander first. Through war problems, family issues and other obstacles Tatiana and Alexander form a relationship.

[First Impressions]

Let’s be honest, the first 300 pages were fairly dry and slow. I wanted to put the book down after the first 50 pages, but after reading all the reviews, I forced myself to get to at least get 1/3 into the book. There were many parts I started to skim. I can read War books, but usually non-fiction ones, so when it became too war-ishy, I kind of brushed past those parts. I was just interested in Tatiana and Alexander, so when I got to the bus scene I was thinking to myself THANK YOU, they finally meet. I love how the relationship formed in the beginning, the only way to describe is just pure innocence.

Of course there has to be one huge obstacle. Dasha, Tatiana’s sister, met and liked Alexander first. I have a sister that is 7 years older than me and we are VERY close, so I can understand the torment Tatiana went through. Tatiana loved Dasha so much she stepped aside and let Dasha have Alexander and against Alexander’s wishes of course.

[Tatiana]

In the beginning, I HATED Tatiana, how can someone create a character like her? I can’t stand martyrs, CAN.NOT.STAND. You hear me?! I just wanted to slap Tatiana, why didn’t you listen to Alexander? He told you to get your twin brother out of the army, he told you to buy more oil, he told you to not give food away, I mean I could go on and on. I understand having a selfless heroine, but when the selfless heroine becomes ridiculously frustrating, I wanted to throw the book at the wall. The only thing I can say is about 70% into the book, I really liked Tatiana, in fact I gained more respect and started to see what she really was, a good person.

[Alexander]

Oh, what can I say about crazy Alexander. In the beginning I didn’t have any impression of Alexander, only that he knew what he want and he was the most reasonable person on earth. From the start he wanted to be with Tatiana and he only did what Tatiana said even if it went against his wishes, so, you really did feel his love for her. About 50% in, you get a different side of Alexander and boy that was when it got good for me. Words to describe Alexander… passionate, strong, crazy, dominate, determine, sexy, possessive and ridiculous a character I absolutely LOVE to read!

[Love Story]

THE BROZNE HORSEMAN is one EPIC WAR love story. There is no denying the love between Tatiana and Alexander. The love is so intense; I think I held my breath in so many scenes because I was on edge so much. Don’t even get me started on the “honeymoon” scenes, I mean I enjoyed them, it was a surprising and refreshing change of pace, BUT I felt like it didn’t quite fit. I think the “honeymoon” was probably the only “happy” part and I kind of didn’t want it, just because I knew it was a tease.

Oh, yes, almost the first 50% is ONE.BIG TEASE. One of the reasons why I couldn’t stop reading, I had to get through the emotional drama and of course there are many more emotional dramatic parts, which makes you feel like you never know where things will go.

[Overall Opinion]

THE BROZNE HORSEMAN is not a story for everyone, for one, the story is VERY LONG, there are many repetitive parts and the ending will leave you dropping your jaw, HOWEVER, if you are like me and you love an intense, almost faint, going crazy LOVE STORY, then I highly recommend THE BROZNE HORSEMAN. I will move on to book 2, Tatiana and Alexander BECAUSE I must know what is next.

I had mixed emotions throughout, but it wasn’t until I got the last page and reflected and realized, wow, this was a really great read.

If you have read the book, click on VIEW SPOILERS below, because I need to rant on some parts.
